True..."Turf Drop" is sounding better and better.....I guess the only way these executive types will spend money on you nowadays is if you have a crappy sounding song getting way more airplay than it deserves...Too bad this ain't it and 40's album probably won't come out in '08.....
move on! evolve ... let 40 grow as an artist! please! let the man try a different sound, I'd love to see the day where a bay area rapper's career reaches the point where it doesnt matter what the bay thinks/wants ... let the man TRY to make a nation-wide hit that will gain him some respect in the industry, so cats will stop cuttin him out of remixes when its time to perform them on BET or shoot the video ... w/o out change there cannot be growth and without growth there is no success ...

if your shit doesn't sound like it was made 15 years ago and you start moving more than the usual 3000 units you're automatically considered a "sellout" by some of these lame ass bay area "fans"...

i'm not big fan of this track but i'm intelligent enough to understand that this is the right choice for a single and that the rest of the album will be dope regardelss...

I agree with you but the song is still a piece of shit. Im not gonna call 40 a sell out because what these fuck ups dont understand is that you release a fuckin album to make money. If your album doesnt make money then youre a failure as a business man. That said, this song fuckin sucks.

Only ppl who hate on 40 is rappers and there friends. Which 1 of them is you??? There aint a artist in the bay let alone the world who would turn down a chance to get a song and a single clearance with akon. He is the number 1 urban artist out right now hands down.
Then, you kinda made my point....going the commercial route, compromising his integrity and reputation. I understand sales but there is always a line that gets crossed at some point where you end up possibly embarrassing yourself by shitting on your own career (i.e. the fans, your rep,the sound that you are known and respected for, etc...). 40 is no kid in the game....he is not "cute" and young. He can do whole albums with fools like Akon....doesnot mean the high school kids in the mid-west are gonna dig him.
ALSO, Akon may be the number 1 urban artist hands down, as you say-and that is debatable-but that does not mean everything he does is good.
Does anyone care about quality anymore?? Ya know, it is possible to have quantity (sales=$) and quality (good shit) simultaneously.
By the way, getting defensive with everyone does little for your credibility.
Food for thought, my know it all colleague.....

would u prefer he goes independant & sells 2000 copies. that wouldnt make much sense at this point in his career. theyll b plenty of knocks on it dont judge the whole cd on a single.

This needs a video as soon as they can get it out. Or at least radio play. All I hear right now is songs with "robots" on 'em. If you're gonna jump on a bandwagon, gotsta do it at the right time. No use in getting on it when it's already passed.

Just because 98% of modern rap is bullshit doesn't mean nobody is stuck in the past.
...98% seems kind of high bruh...and what do you consider modern rap??? Sounds like you have a gripe with rap music more than 40's single
