i work at one, and have worked at various ones for the past 5 years...
the pay is good and so are the benefits. be prepared for extensive training and micro management. be prepared to be monitored and critiqued at least 2 times a month. its all mental bro, if you are patient, you will be fine. if you ain't got the mentality to be on the phone for 7 hours a day, forget about it..i just got promoted last week..all i do is process internet mail, and reset passwords all day. :)

There are many jobs that could be worse...Just think of it this way...you get paid to sit, type and talk on a phone all day. One thing I did, to pass the time, when I worked for a call center was buy a lot of magazines( vibe, source, maxim, whatever) and got high before work during work and after work.

I worked in one for 2 years and I gotta say it was the worst 2 years of my life. You will have absolutely no freedom. Your breaks will be timed to the second. If you get up to piss they will harass you about the time you werent logged into the phones. To them you are a number, everything comes down to stats, ie how long your calls are, how many calls you answer in a shift, how long you are logged in, etc. Keep in mind as well that you will be listening to idiots complain over the phone alllll daaaaaaay. As soon as one person hangs up the next person is there bitching at you...

The only way to get ahead where I worked was to either kiss ass or snitch on someone. I wasnt down with either so no lead for me. When I gave those fuckin snakes 2 weeks notice, they fired me 2 days later for nothing. I told them I had spoken to a lawyer and I wanted 2 weeks pay that they legally had to pay me or I would sue. I had the check 3 days later. They were notorious for doing that shit, I wonder how many poeple dont call them on it and are ass out 2 weeks pay...

I probably sound bitter, but in the end it was a valuable learning experience. I learned that working in an office environment is definitely not for me, and I also learned not to take any BS from some spineless ass kissing faggots trying to work thier way up the corporate ladder...

yeah tony, rasan and ry hit tha shit DEAD ON. i worked in call centers for tha last 10 years. they're chill, but u GOTTA have patience. some folks cant sit in one spot for 7 hours so its not for them, they gotta stay movin. me, i'm chill. i don't like gettin dirty, i don't like standin all day. i've done warehouse shit also, and i'd rather do call center shit. i'm jus a lazy mofo. BUT tha females that work in call centers are damn near dimes!!!!!! no lie. i've fucced a gang uv hos (bacc in tha days) from workin there. its a high turnover rate so bitches come, and bitches gooooooooooooo so there's always a new batch of batches. but yeah, i'd recommend it. fold.

Ill definitely co-sign that. Its hella easy to mack on broads there too. Everybody is emailing each other and talking shit. The job itself is still shit though...

Do you mean a call center that does cold calling? If so, I know someone who did that job and he fucking hated it. Went against everything he believed in. He hated everyone for the 3 months he worked there.. I mean everyone, people on the street, his friends, family.. I guess he couldn't switch off like some people whilst doing the job.

As well as having to cold call, he got insulted very often. Some guy he cold called said 'you're a fucking retard, you have a spasticated lisp, get the fuck off the phone'.. Dude aint got no lisp, thats the type of shit you have to put up with on the daily.

any type of call center blows....unless you move up quickly...if not, then most people quit or get fired within a year....i worked at a few call centers and there was always people coming and going....unless the benefits are on point...then only the younger people seem to come and go.....

my 2 cents...if you plan on working for long time....try to move up the ladder as quickly as possible...having people talk shit to you 8 hours a day 5 days a week will get to most people...because everyone has bigger balls when they on the phone

You work with TriCARE homie?

I worked for a "call center" at my last base. You have to be a real patient person to work for one. There's always calls where the person thinks that they are the most important and that you should drop what you're doing to fix their problem. For me, it was 50/50. It had it's good and bad moments

I was a telemarketer in PHX for like a week i got paid for the training and did one day of that shit and quit the next day. That shit was terrible, then again i only did that job cuz it was part time and i was in school. I know i'll never have to do a shitty job like that again
