the album category is through a submission process..

The " Best Hip Hop" is just people in the public eye to whom is on the Academy....which is mostly the bookers for the venues, music editors, DJ's from Radio Stations, etc.

Are these other hip-hop artists listed there that we know almost nathan about are literally gainin any noteriety almost on the same level as the key artists (Mitchy, Cricet, Ecay, Damu, I-Rocc, Lil Uno, Lil Rob, etc...) Sounds like them cats are suburban to me well correct me on them??? But much props to 12 gauge for makin it along wit Deep Rooted, & Jimmy... Lil Uno is always nominated every year tho imo his music aint all that great as much as Lil Roberto lol!!

most are cross-over acts with "wide appeal".....

one the real though, Vokab Kompany is dope...they tour all over the place, they got music liscensed in Kia Commercials, they play huge festivals, out of anybody on that list they deserve it the most....cause they WORK more than anyone.

but in the end it's all polotics....I think Quan Vu from SDRAPS needs to be on the academy, that dude has no bias at all, and says whatever he thinks.

yeah. last time i watched the award show (they televised on channel 4 or something) was a few years ago and these clowns won best hip hop artists.
