Just got back from Thursday/Rise Against/Circa Survive show...

Yeah they played Steps Ascend...amazing fucking song. I like both Murder by Death and Fear Before... as well. With that being said those three bands couldn't be any much different from each other in style, should be an interesting show lol. I just saw Fear Before... with Norma Jean and...

    Anyone Like Death Metal?

lol No shit huh? I guess the guy doesn't watch any horror movies or anything that deals with death on TV either. He more than likely thinks Marilyn Manson had something to do with the Columbine Massacre as well. I'm not really a fan of Death Metal but it's only entertainment...get over it...

Your Top Albums of 2006 [revisited] (Non Rap)

Not really, it's on my list too on the first page lol. Morrissey/The Smiths have been one of my favorite artists/bands for as long as I can remember. I liked that Mastodon too but it was a step back from Leviathan IMO. Still a good album though. Fantômas - Suspended Animation came out...

Just got back from Thursday/Rise Against/Circa Survive show...

They just released their new ablum called A City by the Light Divided in April or May of this year. It's a good album IMO but no where near as great as both Full Collapse and War All the Time are. It's still worth picking up though IMO.

    Southern Rock bands?

I feel you DNI, it's all good. Different strokes for different folks. I like a lot of sludge metal too...I already know about and am a fan of Eyehategod and Corrosion of Conformity. Never heard of the other two, I'll check them out. Thanks once again.

    Southern Rock bands?

I like a lot of stuff that I can't understand the lead singer/screamer lol. This isn't one of them...It sounds like they put a effect on his voice which I'm not digging at all. The actual music from the band is pretty good I have to say. The lead singer/screamer just kills it for me though...

Even though we seem to have drastically different taste in rock music (besides Bauhaus and Joy Division) I agree 100% that 2006 has been a great year. A lot of good shit has came out this year.

Good looking out on that list Jae. I have only heard limited BSS but I did like what I heard. I know you already know about Do Make Say Think but out of that list of members you should really check out Valley of the Giants (Post-rock band) and Metric (kind of like Ladytron) a lot of the others...

Your Top Albums of 2006 [revisited] (Non Rap)

I can't speak for This Will Destroy You because I just found out about them but none of the Post-Rock bands I listen to really use drum machines, they are full bands. There are lots of post-rock bands. Here is a list from Wikipedia if you want to check some more out (a lot aren't on this list...

You will prob. dig Pelican Redstorm. It's more Metal than the others. My favorite Post-Rock bands minus the ones already mentioned are... Red Sparowes Godspeed You! Black Emperor A Silver Mt. Zion Gregor Samsa Mono (the one from Japan) Of Sinking Ships (there are a few bands named this) The...

    THE FALL OF TROY!!!!!!

Yeah they are from Muckeltio of all places lol. They are hella young too...all 21. See now I didn't think you would care for them too much lol. They are actually a good mixture of screaming/singing IMO. Yeah Thomas Erak is an amazing guitarist. I don't know what you downloaded but they have...
