SO I AINT KNOCKING THE NEXT GENERATION IM RIDING WIT EM AS LONG AS THE RESPECT IS SHOWN I HAVE NO REASON TO FEEL THREATENED IN NO FORM OF FASHION. I AM THE BAY ALONG WIT THE REST OF MY COUNTERPARTS. HOLLA.
Right. As long as there is no BLATANT disrespect, no need to feel threatened on either side. Locksmith and them shouldn't have to feel threatened just because they're trying to make a statement. If the statement that they're trying to make is taken in the wrong context, that's not their fault. It's the fault of the person that took it wrong because regardless of anything, nobody except Locksmith and whoever conceptualized their movement knows exactly what they meant when they created it.

Everybody is too damn touchy when it comes to words right now. You can't say this cause 'so and so' will take it wrong, you can't say that cause 'so and so' will take it wrong. But 'so and so' can say this or that about anybody because no one will want to have a conflict with 'so and so'. What if somebody said something that 'so and so' didn't like but 'so and so' misinterpreted the meaning of what was said? That's where all the bullshit starts.

Mufuckas done took the shit to a whole new level with this, "I know this about you, so if you fuck with me, I'll put it on a record for everybody to hear" bullshit. This is KILLING the music. It makes Hip Hop look stupid because that's when the TV Shows get created strictly focusing on the negativity in Hip Hop. Also that's when you're watching CNN and you see the little ticker at the bottom of the screen updating the news reporting on every Rapper (regardless of whether you heard of him or not) who gets shot (they never report anything else except that shit).

Cats need to get back to focusing on the MUSIC and let all that extra bullshit slide. We aint in Middle School no more.

I got more to say on this.. I'll post later.

my 2 cents. I think its always gone be kinda twisted when people leadin the way are new, and kinda nerdy. Somebody said they look like squares, but that dont mean they really ARE squares. Nobody can deny that they have good lyrics. KMEL be suckin they dick, they prolly would be able to get their music on if they didnt have everything a sample of somebody else's music. But Locksmith represented KMEL in that battle, so they will always give them love. That right there is big. Havin said that, nobody really knows these fools from the streets. So all we know about is what we see and hear. They rap cool, they look like squares. I hope they just be theyself and not try to fit in and end up fuckin up their uniqueness. You can be a triangle for all I give a got-damn as long as you rap yo ass off. Dont turn gangsta. Be yourself. And stop puttin out them got-damn mixtapes. Put out a real record. Get you a producer like Sean T, Sham over at PaperTrail, Messy...feel me. Matter of fact, aren't they from richmond, or was it Oakland. If it Oakland, fuck with EASKI, if it Richmond, fuck with Sham, if its Frisco fuck with Marv. Common sense. Come tight a fuck, you already got airplay comin your way from KMEL (believe it).... should be a no brainer. Plus, those producers might give them the street credibility they need if they desire it. But nobody can deny them niggas got flows.

Yuk earned the right to say shit like that. Stripes have they priveliges.

They look like squares? As ooposed to what? What are they supposed to look like?

Yuk earned the right to say shit like that. Stripes have they priveliges.
Whether or not Yuk earned the right to say what he said in response the "The New Bay" thing, it may turn out to make him look ignorant if he said what he said strictly based on him feeling disrespected because of their movement. Like I said a couple of posts ago, nobody but Locksmith and them know what they really meant when they conceputualized their movement. Certain cats regardless of "stripes" right now wanna make EVERYTHING a fuckin Soap Opera and react all over dramatic to things that are just words. The funny thing is, if the tables were turned and someone was speaking on some of these cats with "stripes" the same way they speak on the up and commers, that shit would be called hating. Cats are trying to turn everything into a conflict. And for what?????

This aint directed directly at you cuzzo, I'm just elaborating on my earlier points.

I think the only way he could "earn" the right to say that anyone who raps with their shirt off is biting Pac is if he was declared mentally retarded of legally insane. Other than that it's not a legitimate statement.

i feel what both sides are doin, Yuk & Locksmith.
but as far as growin goes, i feel that too, but itz like we gotta stick together, and bring eachother up first, before we can expand out, especially for us new cats (like myself). cause when Cash Money and them first came into the game, they only fucked with niggas within their click.

basically i'm just kinda agreein with what others have said, we need some damn UNITY, cause muthafuckaz out here is hella quick to hate on somebody's CD, before they even open the damn case. and the only time you can get some respect (play) is if you come into this game under a respected Bay artist, like Keak da Sneak, E-40, Yukmouth, etc.

thatz been the only problem i've seen lately.

Being a Bay Area artist, what are your thoughts on the Bay scene in general?

Its a joke. Too many old artist putting out under par shit and eating off there once great names. Too many new cats coming out with sorry shit cause its easy. Too many fans quick to pass judgement on others like they could ever do better. Too many business men, not enough artists.

Where do you fit into the Bay scene, with it being so flooded.

New Bay

What are your thoughts on "The New Bay?" They been takin a lil heat lately from some of the Bay veterans but have also been recieving support from others veterans.

I thinks it's good. I think change is needed. If your an artist that's mad, I can understand. I would be scared too if I thought some hot youngsta was gonna take food off my plate. If you're an artist that supports it, cool, theres plenty of money for all, there's a market for everybody.

this is from my interview on www.westsiderap.com

So what is a Thug Lord?...is there a definition, or is it some abstract idea or thought that someone came up with...

and do you have to be a thug to make good music?

do you have to sell cocaine and where throwbacks with matching socks just to be the number one rapper...it all sounds silly to me.

music is music, if it sounds good, it is good. who cares about the image the rapper portrays..offcourse it plays a role in what the audience thinks, but really, is Yuk doing his music just for the fans? or is he doing it for himself? it sounds like he's pissin off those backpackin rappers...who could very well be part of his fan base..

any ways, that's my 2 cents worth...

bleezal; over and out
