HIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!! SO DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL

Ask yourself this, Why does someone as "major" as Yukmouth feel the need to lash out on cats that have said nothing about him and are only trying to put themselves and the Bay on the map? Maybe he should've devoted more of his article to ....I don't know...something like his album, the other rappers he's supposedly helping out, or maybe something else constructive like helping other Bay Area rappers get their music heard! Realistically what has Yuk done to put the Bay on the map? How come none of us or anyone we know have albums coming out on Rap-A-Lot or Smoke-a-lot records?

Obviously "New Bay" MC's are doing something right...They're getting noticed and talked about. The interesting part about it is that they're doing it without HATING on anyone else unlike some people out here who act similar to crabs in a barrell by trying their hardest to keep the next man down. That's why the Bay ain't doing shit! We all need to help each other and show the world that we are a force to be reckoned with. How can we gain credibility when our own peers single us out just to take us down?

As far as the New Bay being a "war cry" we should think of it more as a movement to elevate the Bay Area Music scene past just the Bay. If we don't support each other and celebrate diversity in musical styles, we're going to keep doing the same shit we've been doing. STAY RIGHT THE FUCK HERE!

Remember this is just my two cents so do what you want with it. This ain't personal so don't take it or make it that way. I am just trying to start an intersting debate and maybe change a few mindsets while we're at it.

Fire away :)

I tell you what is really worth LMFAO about. This is like Jeopardy..... and the answer is, 'this post'.

The question of course, as we've heard every week for several years on here, is why does the Bay never really come up?

And here in front of you is your answer. Hate that doesn't need to be hate. Why does Yuk need to come at these cats?

I can't see it.

Dude is fire and yet he feels he needs to talk down on some cats who whatever they call themselves is representing his area.

That's sorry.

I couldn't give a damn one way or the other about these dudes, and I also thought that 'New Bay' term was kind of disrespectful.....

...but damn they said enough times what it meant, let them do their thing, if you can't even support your own then why even pretend you care about your area blowing up.

Compare this to someone like Cellski who was on here backing up Locksmith performance all the way on MTV and his efforts to put it out there for the Bay.

Yuk could take some lessons in supportin your own from Mr. Predictor himself. I got more respect for Cellski than ever now when I see his fellow legends taking cheap shots.

Right now I expect some corny remark on my location, but that would be bitch move #1. I've swooped so many bay CD's to give them the recognition they deserve... the only corny thing round here is puttin down bones on Yuk's shit only to find out the dude is undermining love and support cats like me and you is showing.

Yuk needs to slow his roll....
From what I've heard, this is the same person that is either too "big" to stay in the Bay or too scared to come back to the Bay because he recieves death threats on a daily basis. Wasn't he the one talking major shit about Too Short's (a Bay Rap Veteran) move to the ATL? But now he's the Bay Veteran's Spokesman?

Ok, Yuk doesn't read the board so stop kissin his fuckin ass.

He knows better than to think that the "new bay" are dissin the bay. Give me a break, it's like he's tryin to be a bully or somethin.

I like Yuk a lot but I think Balance AND Locksmith are both better Emcee's.

Maybe they could put out a WHOLE ALBUM full of tight shit instead of just a few decent songs. Yuk has NEVER put out an album without a bunch of bullshit tracks.

I support cats like Balance, Locksmith, A-Team etc to the FULLEST...

WHY does anyone HAVE to include a "Bay Legend" on their shit? Thats been the problem...Too many people "FEATURING" this person an that person...These cats are just makin it crack themselves

I agree about the backpacker shit, but in my opinion the New Bay Movement is VERY NEEDED at this point in the game...

More power to you folks

ya, fuck when i first read that shit i was lmfao, that shit was funny as hell but now after reading the replies and actually thinking about it, yuk needs to shut up with some of that shit, however i see why he said it. i guess he doesn't want the bay area to be represented by some hip hoppers instead of some of the rappers that have always been tight as fuck like (40, b-legit, yuk and num, quinn and messy, cellski, jt, richie rich etc etc etc.....)

he is a lot like messy marv, those guys don't give a fuck and will lash out on anybody that they think is fake or reppin some bullshit.

maybe yuk is really mad because every album he puts out should go platinum but sells 50-60k and these cats came out of no where and blew on MTV. Id be mad too, but I think thats a very unproffessional response. Balance and Lock got heat and Yuk should give them their proppers, i havent ever seen/heard them say ANYTHING bad about any bay artist.

I know that Balance meant no disrespect with the term "New Bay". Balance has the upmost respect for the foundations of Bay rap, Too-Short, Cougnut, RBL, Quinn, Luniz, etc. and does a LOT to help Bay Area sales through his 9-5 job. Even though I LOVE the old school killin and dope dealin raps of the Bay, we all know that the days of profiting off that music is long gone. Balance and Locksmith are putting together a new style and I hope it works for them - shit, whens the last time youve seen ANYONE from the Bay on MTV for ANY reason??

very well said.....

Point is,there's turmoil around the Bay about who's doin what.Nobody from the Bay is makin any kind of BIG TIME moves,so why any hate?Don't nobody outside of the Bay remember that some cat named Locksmith finished 2nd in an Mtv contest.Shit,I can't even rememebr the winners name. All this article says to me is that the term "New Bay" seems to discredit,or make these new kats seem like they got no love for the pioneers, which probably is'nt true.Yuk should realize this, and bite his toungue until he actually talks with one of these guys claiming it.To much hostility.
