No it's a 2007 release. It came out in February but it could have leaked at the end of '06.

I have been playing the hell out of the new Number 12. I think it's their best album to date even though they changed their style up quite a bit.

Personally I was really disappointed with the new Shins album. I mean I guess it's a decent album but I'm such a big fan of both Oh, Inverted World and Chutes Too Narrow and I just feel like it wasn't even close to those. I think I listened to it about 4 or 5 times to give a try and haven't picked it up since. I'll have to give it another spin or two but I really don't see my opinion changing.

Yeah, i know what you mean, Oh, Inverted World and Chutes Too Narrow have quite a different sound. Right now, Wincing the Night Away gets a lot of plays in my my car, it's fun to hear it on long drives. Australia, Phantom Limb, Sealegs, Split Needles, and A Comet Appears are all good songs. At least in my opinion.

So I finally got around to actually buying the album Person Pitch by Panda Bear (from Animal Collective for the don't-know's.) After listening to it on the way to the Muckleshoot Casino to meet up with my family I have to say this album goes somewhere on my top 10. It's really fucking cool in a total drugged out hippy folk weird as fuck type of way. Comfy In Nautica is such a catchy song. Any fans of Animal Collective or people who just want to check out something new that is different from the norm need to download this now and then buy it later.

Too bad Avey Tare's album with Kría Brekkan (of Mum) sucked so bad. It was the first record from Animal Collective as a whole or solo I couldn't even listen to.

Mirrored is one of the best albums I've heard in I don't know, a really long time. It's really so different from anything I've ever heard too. I couldn't even tell you who/what it sounds like because it doesn't sound like anybody else out there.

It's weird as fuck but in a really really good type of way.

Battles - Atlas (the song is like 7 minutes long on the album)

I think the best way to describe the sound of the band/album is to quote part of their review from The Stranger (local Seattle paper)

The first time I listened to the album I thought it was really good, after a couple more listens I was hooked and now think it's one of the best albums released in years. It's getting a lot of critical acclaim too which I find odd seeing it's such a different kind of sound than the norm.

Okay enough of me being a fanboy like RJ, back on track.
aye, that shit is kinda tight.....hook me up with the album!
