also, watching CMC on hip hop fridays wit andy kawanami. the late night show wit trace and franzen too. but the thing i hate most, the last video they played on cmc always got cut off in the middle. i remember trying to record some bay videos and then i'd only be able to get half of it, and then 25% of the video had the cmc credits on it

or when you got an album from somebody you heard before and they had a feature on there you never heard of. went out and bought that feature's album and shit was slappin. and it all spreads out from there.

That's when music was tight and the west was on top. That's how I know about so many artist now.

I remember when we used to go to warehouse and steal tapes by just breaking the plastic or melsting it with a lighter. Or when we used to go to tower records and just peel off the bar code and just come up.

Andy Kawanami was on CMC with hip hop fridays. But he took it to the next level when CMC was also aired late night when he played the local videos. I always had my vcr set so i'd have the videos recorded. I couldn't wait 'til the next morning to watch 'em. Damn... those were the days.

Damn, whatever happened to Andy Kawanami? I remember I use to always win the CMC contests... I got hella shirts, cds and movie tickets by being the 6th caller and shit. I'd end up talking to that Samoan dude with the deep voice who was always off camera runnin the show. Fuck, I forget his name.

Does anybody remember this particular video show from like 95 where it was mostly Bay videos with a lady host. There was always guest up on the show like Rappin Ron, Suga T, I think Chino XL was even on there. I remeber I used to have to disconnect my cable to watch it because it was only broadcast over antenna. Does anybody remember this? I think it may have even been a public access show. After the show would end for the night, the channel turned into The Box... I know yall remember that shit, dial up a video and get charged on the cable bill.

when you needed to dub a cassette, but didn't have no blanks so you found some old tape (like your moms Gap Band) and taped the corners to record over it...

findin' 3 homies to put '5 on it' at lunch time for dub to blow...
