I been a supporter of YB since I first heard "16's Wit Me," but this nigga is an example of why the Bay will never get on. Niggas get a little buzz and the completely forget where they come from. Goddamn shame.
You don't have to worry. Ya Boy isn't blowing up no way. He's the west coast version of Joe Budden. However, Joe Budden tv > Ya Boy.

It wasnt meant for anyone to bite on. *PAUSE* It was just something for people to see. Its a open discussion. The fact of the matter is that Im not mad at YB for trying to do different things. Hip Hop has to change because the current state...well lets just face it isnt cutting it. Throughout the times Hip Hop has re-invented itself and branched out to different things. I mean people prolly said the same thing when Run DMC collabed with Aerosmith or when Jay-Z & Kanye start doing stuff with Coldplay, Lil Wayne with Kid Rock, I mean shit even Nelly did a song with a country dude and had a #1 record while doing so. Times change and music has to change with the times. Im not saying that this is a dope song or that Ya Boy is now gonna only have songs like this but there is nothing wrong with switching it up every now and again and trying something new. I mean if anything its giving Hip Hop a broader audience and bridging the gap betweeen Hip Hop and everyone else.

Sidebar: Yeah I guess its kinda whack that hes claiming LA now and reppin it but again sometimes you gotta leave to make things happen. Its very easy to see that there are more opportunities down there. I think its safe to say that he has done more in LA then he did here in The Bay

It really has nothing to do with the music itself. I think Yb is talented.Let me explain it to you like this. *PAUSE* I'm from Frisco. Give a fuck if the 49ers go 0-16 I'm still a niner fan. Y.B is his own man. If he feels representing L.A will further his career that's that mans decision. It's like you said this is an open discussion and I'm merely amused by the title of this thread. "YA BOY & DR HOLLYWOOD - WE RUN L.A." Please explain to me how the Bay or L.A can justify that statement? That's the part I can't understand.

im not really feelin the song but i cant hate

i wouldnt even classify this as hip hop its definetely POP and since i dont really like POP i couldnt give it a real chance

but i do know there are alot of people who like POP music and i think its a good look for ya boy to be gaining extra fans

as far as that whole reppin LA thing goes its my understanding that he lives there now and i didnt hear him say he was from LA ever on anything and LMAO at people acting like he meant he runs LA on some gangster shit after hearing that song
