My thoughts exactly...

I mean.. I loved New Orleans when I was there.. Bourbon St, hurricanes... the music.. the Cathedral.. but I cant imagine living there with the constant unrest... knowing that come this season next year it could go down in a savage fashion.. I wouldnt want to put my kids in that type of situation.. mother nature is so unforgiving.

I've never been but I'd go back in a raft and tell any one up to their neck in water and willing to listen, "I'm Rick James bitch!"

U got some real ignorant responses in this thread. If a natural disaster hit where ever youre from, and they rebuilt it....you mean to tell me yall wouldnt go back? Some people whole lives are in New Orleans, thats all they know. Yeah, it'll be hurricanes in the future...BUT, what makes you think they wont prepare New Orleans for strong hurricanes after all this took place? Now as far as the people who wont leave, u can look at that as being stupid or whateva, but like I said before, most people who lived in New Orleans during this...theyre whole lives are there. Its not about being a "moron" for going back, its about loving your city.

point proven, but wouldn't u rather move outside the city? where it's not next to tha ocean. Of course they goin to make it safer but how safe can they make it, the friggin city is below sea level not like they can make a bubble round the N.O

that's EXACTLY what i was gonna say. that shit is all i know. a lot of the people that stayed COULDN'T leave so cut all the dumb shit. i can guarantee that most people running off at the mouth would have completely different opinions if something like that rocked their city.

.. as for New Orleans being fucked forever i seriously doubt that. you know how many developers are going to be jumping to help rebuild.

it wouldn't be safer anywhere else. the southern tip of Plaquimines Parish is completely in the Mississippi River .. not even dirt is left.

and i doubt they'll leave the city without food and water for years to come.

yeah new orleans was great for the partys when people visited. but like they said. 48% of the poeple who lived there are poor. the violence is crazy. new orleans is a drug city. even there own mayor admitted that. new orleans was fucked begin with. it's just sad to see all those lives lost especially the young children. the hurricane has now made everyone homeless. it makes the situation 10 times worst.
