I think that the quality of Bay rap is definitely improving...and it definitely helps that we are FINALLY getting some love on the radio !! So...I beleive its a work in progress.

Heard some great SONGS from The Bay this year...but not really many SOLID albums. I think that is one of our opportunities to improve...making great ALBUMS.

I think that with the popularity of club music growing...we have another great opportunity for some national exposure. And this is one of the things that we are doing well right now...making good music to dance to. So all in all...I think its a good time to be from The Bay.

zion i - true and livin
blackalicious - the craft
lyrics born - same shit different day
theres more, but these have been my favorite of the year

if everyone here would support and get behind these artists who are from the bay, and are actually putting out damn good quality hiphop, then i think bay hiphop would be alot more respectable nationwide. but if they dont talk about going dumb, it seems most of you dont care to realize that there are actually artists in the bay with true skills who put out quality after quality album. instead you focus on artists who are just trying to enrich themselves and get radio play. so they compromise their music and dont give a fuck about putting out a quality album as long as it sells, and then when its an album with only two good tracks youre surprised and think bay hiphop is going down the drain. its not. its still putting out good shit you just have to listen in the right places

I think it was actually a great year for the bay, most radio play bay rappers have seen in a long ass time, only thing that needs to improve is the over abundance of shitty shitty mixtapes and compilations. There should be some kind of rule saying only so many a year

Most mixtapes have wack beats and half assed lyrics IMO.

True & Livin was one of the best albums I've heard this year from ANYONE...Bay or not. Zion-I is definitely slept on !

The Bay Remix was dope tho...great to see us put our heads together to make good music.

I def think 2006 will be a better year, since I know Quinn, Keak and AP.9 all drop in Feb. I think Messy drop in January. C-Bo & Tay (call it Bay or not Bay) in March...

hopefully Fed-X puts his shit out... and for the love of God I hope Husalah puts his shit out..

Its been hella weak this year in the Bay. I cant think of a year that has been worse than this. What happened to The Yellow Bus Ridah album? Niggas been puttin out trash and passin it off for good music. That Ya Boy album is overated as fuck too.
theres like a billion rappers from the bay that put out albums this year and not even one of them is tight..they might put out a couple good songs here and there...its pathetic...

I would have also liked have had the keak and team cds suposed to come out this year like they were supposed to. I think there was a lot more solid albums this year then last year i wasnt really feelin much from last year except for quinn dre and team. i hope 06 will have a lot of quality shit.
