What I notice more than mispellings, which is a bit more annoying in my opinion, is that some CD's have had mxied up track lists on the back. I'll pop the disc in and turn to a song which I think sounds tight, and its not even close to the one I was going for... lol
Cant think of any specific examples but you all know what i mean..

i beleive sometimes its also if a cover is sent to press and isnt flattened down....ie: the layers including the text are still able to be edited and its not all jus one single image....the pressing company needs the fonts sent along wit the graphics so that thier printers will absolutely be able to print it all out right.....some pressing companies will say fucc it if you dont send the font and press as is anyways and that can result in errors......probably rare case though most designers will know enough to send the font or jus flatten the image so that it doesnt become an issue....and im sure a lot of mistakes were typos by the designers.....youd have to really rush somethin to not notice it though....

the shit happens...and its that clash between the left brain and the right...huge/small ad agencies have a staff and this allows one person to be the creative me-stro and another for proofing. I aint really into CD covers anymore(tightest projects to work on but I could never seem to pay enough bills wit um), but when designing newsletters, newspapers, magazines and/or projects that consist of alot of copy I always utilize a typesetter...gotta have the typesetter...but once again typesetters cost and alot of designers don't like and/or want to break bread for such a worthy expense!

For example:
Turf Talk Brings The Hood Colabilation

On the spine it says:
Turf Talk BINGS The Hood Colabilation

I'm not putting them out there like they're the only ones who do it, in fact I think SWR releases are pretty good about that... But I see it all the time on Bay Area CD's.

I know a lot of people don't care but think about it... These are albums. These are put on store shelves all over the world. Is there ANY REASON to put something like this out there?!! I work in an industry where we put out products in a similar fashion and we have at least 5 different people checking every package... It's that important. One person proofreading something can catch some of the ridiculous shit I see on Bay Area CD covers. It's embarassing.

Go pick up a 50 Cent album, or a Cash Money album, or a Jadakiss album, or a Jay-Z album... In most cases where an album is being handled professionally you're not gonna see something like that.

If someone isn't going to put work into their product, why should I bother spending my money on it. If your album isn't important enough to you for you to have someone spend 5 minutes checking for basic spelling errors, why should I consider it important enough to spend money on.

That's another thing... Wrong track lists, guests listed who aren't on the album... Again... If you're not gonna put work into your album why should anyone buy it. To me, knowingly putting out an album with songs missing or with guests who aren't there is basically a "fuck you" to the fans.
