just because certain rappers are popular and sell more units doesnt mean that they make good music,it just means that they appeal to the younger crowd that didnt grow up to the real rap & hip hop from the 80's & 90's.
yeah i said it may not be good music but with their appeal and ability to sell units...rap will survive. Above all though I think rap will last because there will always be an urge for new rap music to hear or rappers emerging.

98% of all the shit that comes out these dayz is garbage because too many rappers copy other rappers and hop on the latest trend and rappers have to use the same words and beats of other rappers.most of the cds that come out these days have only 1 good song and u have to skip thru the whole shit.

i can't even listen to the popular hip hop radio stations anymore, like another poster said its like the worst of atlanta rap, rnb, techno and autotune had a mutant love child.

Whats worse is the more popular this crap gets, the more of of the rappers i actually like try to copy that crap to try to get famous.

Let Hip Hop be what it really should be: diggin through crates and shelves looking for that rare album or artist no one can find. Discovering new artists through word of mouth or just giving someone's CD a shot. Living in Northern California and knowing who Mitchy Slick is. Living on the East Coast and knowing who Living Legends are.

Don't ever let anyone pick what's good Hip Hop for you. Hip Hop needs to be sneaker boutique or fine wine music or like the hole in the wall in your city that cracks that no one knows about. Those who know Hip Hop will forever be in-tuned to who the real greats are and those who dont will live life on the outside thinking they are on the inside.
Thats the way I feel about it.

no it will go on for infinity.

In the year 3412, humans will no longer exist and robots will rule the earth (& galaxy). However, being that they are robots they will rap in robot voices for entertainment, finding humor in 80's rap and human robot voices.

i was watching Sister Act 2 yesterday.... yes, with whoopi goldberg. the singing and rapping in that movie is far superior to the music we have now.

Sorry to break "kumbia" in here, but rap "fell off" around 2000.
someone on this board said it right a long time ago. Rap officially fell off when Ice Cube made that song "We Be Clubbin" i literally LOL'D because its true.

Man I found one of my old TDK cassette tapes and what it had on it was oldschool KMEL recorded when I didnt have loot to cop the new tapes, I use to dub off the radio. It was 60 mins of 2pac, Aaliyah, RBL Posse, Biggie, Nas, Bone Thugs "Tha Crossroads" Remix like 3 times (remember that playing non-stop and the video), Naughty By Nature "Feel Me Flow" (the summer jam), Janet Jackson, New Edition, Tha Click's "Hurricane", Militia's "Burn", and TLC.

Those were the days where you can just bump the radio and not worry about what they were goin to play. everything was tight. Til this day, 69 Boyz Tootsie Roll still shits on all these club jams out today!

no shit girls like to dance. I remember goin to the club back in the day and bitches freakin and dancin to 2pac "all about you", biggie's "goin back to cali"
Nas "If I ruled the World" Dr. Dre "Dre Day". Real hip hop and still gettin down.

I bet you play that shit in club today these kids wont understand one lick what they talkin about. stupid kids and their wack taste in music.

and fuck buying mainstream music today. I use to buy cds when the quality of the songs were worth my 12 bucks. The only ones who get my 12 bucks for a cd is the underground cats that dont make it on the radio that make that real mob shit, hip hop lyrical backpack political shit. Not no stanky ass legs, beef JERKIN, lollipop T-Stain wid lil wack Ice Cream paint job bullshit ya play in the clubs nowadays.

^ Yup & when y'all break it down rap is just rhyming over a beat right?

So I think it's safe to say that rap will be around as long as 'sing' music lol
