Protests alone don't. That's what I have beef with. This put the kids in the stroller and put a stop the war sticker on them for the afternoon is a make yourself feel good fest.

Your example of the Denmark situation I like because it highlights the difference between the current U.S. attitude towards protest and that of the rest of the world (and how the U.S. used to do it). Walk outs, strikes, blockades, boycotts, etc are far more effective actions. When coupled WITH protests it's even better. I'm all for that and it is more along the lines of what I consider to be meaningful action.

To use the cliche example of the civil rights era. It is important to remember it wasn't a bunch of people getting together to chant catchy rhymes, there were boycotts, mass voter drives, etc, etc, etc. That was what made things effective. The willingness to get your head cracked the fuck in because something is so important to you helps a lot. Bringing your kids along for the experience does not indicate to me something you're willing to get your head cracked for.

I agree with all of this - more than protests definitely needs to occur in order for change to occur. But protests are still and always will be a way for people to express their views. Cant get mad at that.

If elections got cancelled i sure as hell would be ready to uprise but unfortunately there arent enough others ready to do so.....even most of the hood gangsta ass mafuccaz who aint no punks on the street that i know are scared of the police....dont want shit to do with the government or white people who look like government.....they do dirt on the low but they aint trying to go out and physically fight against cops and die at the hands of the military on the streets..... they arent even prepared for that shit.....we got hella guns but we aint got tanks and helicopters and all that gear the National Gaurd got....so even if uprising did occur it would be squashed and the ones uprising would be "terrorists" and be made examples of.....then no one would try that shit again.....martial law would be in effect....shit as we know it would change up and already has just too many are blind to it and its too late i think....

im just ready for a huge natural disaster to fucc this world up or maybe a nuclear war.....something big needs to happen to stop this shit cuz its gone too far already....we livin in hell folks.....

I've seen that most individuals just write down in front of computer monitor, saying things such as "fuck bush", "i wish we could change government", "we need a new leader", etc. etc. everywhere, on forums, youtube comments, you name it...

but yet, less percent of them are willing to take a real action in reality to speak and do something about it instead of bitching in front of computer all day....I don't know why, I mean I know why, but you know what I mean, lol...
