I know for a fact that Iraq is in good shape, my cousin said there was so little violence where he was they shipped him to afghanistan, and I've seen countless videos and read countless soldier journals. The taliban is non existent there, the Iraqi police/ military is doing a great job, and there is a democracy in order. People there are very grateful, the non jihad people
the sectarian beef that popped off in a terrible level in 2006, 2007, has died down a lot compared to those days, i'm not even gonna front on that, but shit is still popping off over there

and i don't want to seem like i'm being patronising or sumthin, because that's corny and on some bougie shit and i ain't bougie, but i'm just guessing that your soldiers friends and relatives are talking from a perspective of, "no one is trying to kill us on the level of like how it was back in the early days of this occupation" type vibe, but i might be wrong, you would have a bigger picture of what they were telling you, you see what i'm saying

because the medical situation over there for the locals is horrendous, the literacy rate has gone totally down, theirs no real authentic rebuliding of the devasted infrastruture over there, its really not a real democracy if all parties don't get involved and rep everyone, not the sectarian voting lines thats goin on that was instigated by the system and when the US millitary leaves and i hope it dosen't go down this route, but a civil war might pop off over there, so it ain't all good or a bed of roses, no it ain't

They destroyed countries like that, so once they had a "democracy" in place, they could rebuild them using companies of their choice... You'll see millions, even billions of dollars, go to these companies, over the years as they build back up...

Well instead of basing an opinion solely on what he read from 2-0-Sixx on the siccness, he heard it from someone who is actually there. A person that would be the main target, were it so so violent there.

What a dick.

After all, we all know 2-0-Sixx and other people around here have a ton of experience in things other than running their mouths.

why would you even say my name? I made one comment in this thread and it was a very common sense statement about the fucked up infrastructure there.

theres little violence cause those fuckin insurgents are waiting for us to leave since they know theres a fuckin deadline...and whats your cousins job? trust me shit is still goin down, just never makes it on the news as much as before...and the iraqi police/military are undisciplined faggots who still shoot their rifles in the sky for no reason and have no real leadership amongst themselves whatsoever...no matter what we do to that country it will remain a shithole, with the warring religious factions, the Kurds, all that shit...

First off, you dont know jack shit. This is the only "fact" about you.

Second of all, you talked to ONE person and that solidifies everything?

Third, "People"...as in every single Iraqi? So, you talked to every single person that lives there and came to this conclusion?

Why arent you banned yet?
Well every single person I've talked to that were in Iraq said the same shit. People were happy to see them, thanking them for what they were doing, and grateful that Hussein was out. The ones that were NOT happy were the extremists trying to take control of shit...

EVERY Iraqi is not going to be happy, just like every American is not happy right now. Should Obama be kicked out of office because many Americans don't agree with what he's doing? Does it mean he shouldn't be kicked out of office because many Americans do? Think about that for a second.

Of course there are going to be different stories...different experiences. The point was to validate dude saying his "cousin said this"...because I've heard the same shit from numerous sources. I wouldn't go to Iraq...it's a crap shoot. Some people play the psychotic role so they don't have to go back, everybody I know was there on multiple occasions, saw some bad shit, but overall said the media was hyping shit up by only reporting the bad stuff.

I tend to believe them, and here's why. As a former journalism student, I learned that MEDIA, overall, is liberal. They report on shit that helps THEIR point and supports THEIR belief structure. Fox News (conservative station) does the same exact thing. There are always exceptions, but not many. The reason I stopped pursuing journalism was because of the one-sidedness of most news sources. If the media hated Bush, they were going to report the BAD SHIT about him, the war, and anything else he did. They STILL do it.

Fact is, numerous sources have told me "The media is hyping this shit up...there is violence, but not on the level that you are told".

Don't get me wrong...I don't think our troops should be in Iraq, either. I think we need to take care of our issues HERE before we help other nations. So I'm not speaking as a "supporter" of this battle...but I do support our troops and when they speak on their experiences, I listen.

they would walk into villages and the farmers would cry in happiness, a grown ass man, crying. He'd thank the soliders, give them food, tell them good spots to set up posts, and tell where taliban and insurgent movement happened. a lot of the Iraqi people are EXTREMELY grateul. I actually haven't heard from my cousin since he went to afghanistan, i don't think he has electricity.
