We as bay artists have to continue to stay consistant, and learn to put out great mainstream music . Sterring away from 95% violent songs on an album to a well rounded story telling book so to speak. Quality Content and Quality Context with A beats = Success.

Okay.. So you think everyone is coming with the right product but they're just being 'hated on' because they ain't on a major label? Ever been to Atlanta? Miami? New York? There's a whole bunch of artists who arn't on major labels getting airplay in those cities. Of course support from radio will make things easier but regardless, radio doesn't have the final say on whether you make it or not.

The south and east are popular rite. now root word POPULAR. that is the main word. pop muzik nowadays man. when white america buys that shit its a wrap. and theres more of them then there is us. no offense to anybody white. and niggas is burning cd's or listen to the country shit too. the bay ain't down with pop. but I know we're smart enough to change things.

Obviously the bay is down with pop or Jay-Zs last album wouldn't have sold more than any may artist in the last 5 years combined in the bay itself. You can blame the rich white kids or whatever but these bay cats need to cater to these people to some degree or they will never sell shit.

I could be wrong, but correct me if am. I use to say politics as of last week but as Sic Wit it stated, the game has changed and you have to change with time. magic Johnson, Worthy and kareem abdul Jabbar couldn't play with the Kobe's & Shaq's, after being in the game for some years, pass the torch, move down to management.

You can't blame B-12 or a distributor, the Internet, bootleggin for the dcrease of your success, it's all in the change of time. We went from bell bottom jeans, to Sean Johns

It's cool to listen to the Killa Tays, C-Bo's, Homocide, Bumpin Tee, Too Short, but todays generation wants Messy Marv, San Quinn, T-Nutty, C-Lim, etc...

I'm an O.G. in the game and I use to blame everybody for the West being fucc'd in the game, but keep it real, it's just not our time. I say it all the time, history repeats itself, so we'll be bacc soon, so until then, enjoy the ride.

Alot of artist thought the money will continue to come, but they never thought about a rainy day, I don't no one Indi artist that invested there money into Real Estate, I.R.A. account, Life insurance, etc...Not sayin none didn't, but I doubt if 10% even thought about it, now they're cryin about the game. Pac has the Pac Estates, Pac and I have the same business Lawyer out of Los Angels, how many Indi artist put away for a rainy day? I no plenty that put away for a daily CHRONIC BREAK, $100 aday, do the math, now they're crying over shit they could've controled when there career was at an all time high. GO BACC TO THE TRUNK ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!, it's costing you less then a $1 to press your shit yourself, E-40 and short paved the way, the game, except 5$-7 for your project, far as O.G. rappers, learn the game cuzz, learn the business and go from there.
that's sum true wordz^^ right there.

rappers need money management classes and maybe a course or two on business and marketing. The people making it to the top are the ones with degrees(not true on all cases but the majority) and an education beyond junior high. Instead of picking up a microphone how about picking up a book on bussiness and marketing strategies? And instead of thinking that you're gonna make it big......how about a plan 'B' just incase you don't make it big. Alot of these older rappers need to let it go and maybe stay behind the scenes or invest in something else, that's not music biz related.

But to tell you the truth there can only be so many rappers in this world...the rest need to give up and go to college and get a degree to better themselves and their families.....

^^ You're supposed to believe you're making good music. If you can't convince yourself, you damn sure ain't convincing anyone else! At the end of the day though, you can feel you're putting out the hottest music ever but if the consumers don't agree then what you think doesn't mean shit. No sales, no career.

I think the problem is when money or the prospect of money gets involved alot of these cats fall off because of greed or the fact that they really were'nt that close to begin with. I've been in the studio with Tay and he is a professional plus he's down to earth.

@sicwidit!& at the end of the day you're justanother tay hater behind a computer with no positive input!istill feed my fam off the gameso my (career's) ok!
That's how you respond? "Another tay hater behind a computer"? That's laughable homeboy. My comment was general and not aimed at anyone specific but it obviously touched a tender spot with you. How come? You've been around the music business long enough to know those words are the truth so like I said, "no sales, no career."

I've always supported your projects but if you're gonna get sensitive on the internet over facts about the music business then I'll have to reconsider. And if you can feed your family strickly off music then congratulations homie, good job. So do I, just on a much bigger scale. Enjoy it while it lasts.

i read most of the thread and i don't know if y'all got a personal history, but it seems like you came at dude strong from your first post. seems like it's something behind your posts. maybe i'm reaching. not really trying to be that much in your biz, but i was curious. not trying to instigate.
