Why does my comp always freeze when I play games??

OK I GOT THE SAME GAME HALF LIFE TOO I GOT THE SAME GRAPHIC CARD AS U.....SO MY COMPUTER USE TO FREEZE CUZ I HAD 2 MANY PROGRAMS OPENED SO I CLOSED THEM ALL AND IT DONT FREEZE NOMORE AND IF THAT AINT UR PROBLEM THEN I CANT HELP U!!!!

well i put a fan on my comp, and it seems to be running better, i just played counter strike for about 45min and no freezes

i would change your video card it sounds like it may have overheated...do ao search on your see if it is a normal problem, i had a gfx and it lasted about 4 months then after it overheated once it would freeze randomly on me,and kept getting more and more often....never had a problem after getting a new card

1. update the driver of your video card by going to the nvidia site

2. see if there are patches out there for either of those games
