put it like this - if you are trying to bubble off this shit then go get a regular job @ starbucks b/c the hours and the pay is probably better.

in regards to selling cds on the street - it's a start, but you should want to move on quickly. remember to ask for ten and expect five. take two if they'll give it to you!! you're still doubling up!! DO NOT let the customer walk away empty handed. btw - do you really feel you music is worth 10? i can get the new ghostface for 7!! if they don't want the cd have some promo item to give em like a flyer or a sticker.

thats the best advice i can give you
good advice. i was tryna tell this dude in berkeley that same thing yesterday when he tried to sell me his cd

I say if you can't get your shit off on the streets, how do you expect to get them off in the stores?

Soon enough im gon be in the same position and Ive thought about should i really do it out the trunk. Yes, i will. Ive bought shit off people, cause like one dude said, of the quality it looked like a legit project the presentation was nice, and the dudes were real cool with me and the others i saw them handle shit with. Its all about time and effort. If your really in it and believe and can take critiscism, you wont have a problem doion the trunk thing.

Thank you, took the words right out my fingertips.

Too many MoFoz claimin' they shit is in stores, but that ain't meanin' shit without the right promotion. The streets is the one that carries the word (word of mouth), out bidding any radio play (in the case of underground music). The street will build the hype & demand.

The internet is another tool that is highly used in the underground, but not everybody has internet...most of the time word gets to the Street Homie by word of mouth (from his Homie with internet).

It's simple, if your album is in stores...it doesn't equal sure album sales, promotion is a key factor...if your shit is on the internet, it don't mean everybody is gonna hear it & pushing Cd's out the trunk...you covering the streets.

Too many Cats focused on the how much money they gonna make & set themselves up for a down fall, get your grind on right, hustle yo shit & never be too proud to make a dime in any spot.

All the riches & glittering gold you see on MTV may come if you stay focused on doing what should be your first love in this game...makin' music.

i seen king geogre twice last year sellin his wack shit in the parkin lot.
george making moves. i seen him go to yakima washington and sell 400 cd's in two days. he taught me a lot. when i hit the road it's about paper. them small towns in washington, idaho and oregon will pay you. you gotta cross into canada. find you some canadien beezies in the club in seattle and ride accross with them because canada will confiscate your music without an entertainment permit. arizona will pay you too. you gotta be willing to hit the road. if you got discipline and game you can make a significant sum. if you going out of town with extra dudes that aint hustling and staying at nice rooms (you gotta mack them beezies for a spot to stay, if you aint got kinfolks there,) blowing hella weed and trying to look like a factor in the club your money gonna be short.

I LEARNED A FEW THINGS ABOUT CDS IN MY YEARS....

1st Rule: IF YOU CANT INVEST IN YOURSELF, WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO INVEST IN YOU? you gotta get your shit right... spend money on yourself, get professional artwork, record at a professional studio, professional mixing, mastering, get your shit copywrited etc... Because if you come up to one of these labels you gotta make sure they know you serious. they are going to throw your shit away in a second if your shit isn't top notch because if you can't spend the money on yourself to do that, then OF COURSE they aren't going to spend their money on you. why the fuck would they invest in you you can't even invest in yourself.... Its showing that u must not believe in yourself....

and this rule also goes when you on the streets selling your shit. You on the streets wit burned cds trying to get 1 dollar you might as well go home. You aint hustlin right. come with a professional product and show people that you have spent real time and real money on your shit and you are going to get a way better reaction. People will fuck wit it if you show em that you serious about it and you got a quality product not some bum ass rapper trying to get 1 dollar for his cd.
i agree with your ideas but the main objective of the artist selling cds on the streets is to get his product out there. i've offered cats 5 and they've turned me down. lol

anyways me and kontac are in a more unique situation b/c you pop up on someone w/ a cd or dvd with the features we got then it's def. 50/50

on telegraph in berkeley i see a lot of peeps out there hustling from time to time trying to get their cds off. and if they got something where i can hear the music and if it sounds clean i usually buy it. but im going to tell u this i aint buying a cd off someone for 8-10 dollars that i aint heard. i will buy it for 5 just to help the guy out and if i dont like it i wont be as pissed as if i could have payed 10 and bought it in the store from an artist i heard of
