^works fine for me once you turn all of the terrible options off and make it basically like XP. the only issue is its a resource hog and start up time is pretty slow. from what i have read windows 7 is going to be a lot better in those two aspects.

For those of you who dont know yet, Windows 7 pretty much kicks the shit out of Vista and has lived up to the hype of beating XP surprisingly in many bench tests. This was not the case in many Vista vs XP tests. I will be making the switch when it is releases. Although it does look like a Vista upgrade with modified tweaks and the same GUI, it is fare from it. Check this comparison done on ZDNET awhile ago. Very good.

Just like OSX, many Linux platforms have hardware issues...and some dont even make drivers for Linux at ALL.
Very true about the hardware but it's light years ahead of where it was in 99 when I started fuckin with it.

people have fits when they see my compiz fusion desktop setup. "how the fuck you doing that shit???"... Burning out closed windows, wobbly and stretchable apps along with the 3D desktop rotation and translucency. shiyyyaaat :siccness:

compiz has too many eye candy options to be faded
Here's a compiz example vid
