You lost me.

But when you do a fresh install, partition some of your hard drive for your OS, and the rest for storage. So say you have a 200gb drive, partition and install your OS to the C drive of say 50gb. Partition the rest to the D drive. So incase you want to install a new OS, you will again install it to the C drive, leaving your D drive untouched and your data in tact.

That dude is trippin. His test results are bullshit from the start. He said the boot up time of XP was worse than Vista. That's rediculous. He just doesn't like XP ("Sure, Windows 7 is not XP, and never will be (thankfully)."). I'll stick with XP and whatever flavor of Linux I'm using on my other partition at any given time.

For those of you who dont know yet, Windows 7 pretty much kicks the shit out of Vista and has lived up to the hype of beating XP surprisingly in many bench tests. This was not the case in many Vista vs XP tests. I will be making the switch when it is releases. Although it does look like a Vista upgrade with modified tweaks and the same GUI, it is fare from it. Check this comparison done on ZDNET awhile ago. Very good.

Yeah posting live from windows 7 now, did get the x64 edition. Man I love it so far. The interface is nice, it's not like Vista where it tries too hard to look cool. So far so good. No driver issues as of yet. Going to start installing my software to do some testing. Thumbs up!! Thanks for the help Tony.

I'm a primary Linux user. I have shitcanned my XP Partician in favor of Windows 7. The drivers aren't an issue. I like 7, but there have been a few issues I've had with it. Some things I like, some things I don't. It's way more efficient than Vista. This is exactly what Vista should of been.

I don't care if the RC expires, since I'm a member of MSDNA.

and the point of all that shit is??? fuck all that crap
Some of the Compiz Fusion isn't praticial for everyday use. The raindrops and fire is just for eyecandy. But you can do multiple desktops and turn your desktop into a cube. It's useful for when you are working with multiple virtual machines or documents.

Yeah, it's bs. But I'm majoring in Information Assurance and that device seems really useful and cool. Like I said, I'm a primary Linux user. I only use Windows for games.

Fuck eye candy, I'm all about stability and performance.
Exactly what Linux is. And you can find practically an open source program of stuff you use.

So far so good. I have to hand it to MS, they did a great job with this one. Performance has been excellent. Driver support is amazing. Between tasks at work I was searching for drivers for my Samsung Omnia, which I use for syncing data like outlook contacts, calendar and my Rhapsody Music. Also I often use my phone to do free tethering on verizon. Anyhow I was searching and searching for the damn drivers, installed the xp drivers, nothing worked. I come across a site that tells me just to uninstall whatever I installed, and plugin the phone. Magical, shit worked without a hitch. I guess I was so used to hunting for drivers that I over looked the superb pnp support. Dope shit!
