That can be arranged. ;)

These topics always make me laugh. Who did it first, who's style was it originally? C'mon now. Fast rapping had been on the table way before Bone and even Twista (who claims to have originated the style). Onyx was flipping it, Treach was flipping it, plenty of cats were flipping their tongue before Bone. There's 2 main differences, one is the fact that you had a group of 5 guys that could all do it together (unheard of at the time). Also, when it was done in the past it would be a track here or a verse there, but Bone did it for every track on their album. But the main difference and what sets Bone apart from all these others that flip it fast, is Bone harmonized as well as spitting fast, slowing down and harmonizing all in 1 verse. When 'Creepin On Ah Come Up' dropped back in 94, can you honestly say you had heard an EP like that?

You go from 'Mr. Quija' a straight acapplla w/ all 5 members, then into 'Thuggish Ruggish Bone' which wasn't that fast of a track then into 'No Surrender' which Bone just tore up and then they bring it down into 'Down Foe My Thang' & 'Creepin On Ah Come Up' and then speed it all back up and harmonize brilliantly in 'Foe Tha Luv Of $'. That is what set Bone apart and that is their trademark.

Sadly, Bone no longer uses their original style. 90% of their hooks are done solely by Krayzie and most of their tracks are not as raw and fast as they used to be. They've dumbed them down so to speak. But I will say, from what I've heard from 'Uni5:The Worlds Enemy' they may have brought some of that back, but not entirely unfortunately.

So it's not a discussion of who did it first, it's really who does it the best and in my opinion, no one does it better then Bone.
^^^^^^^ Krayzie Bone...????????????? Hmmmmmmmmmm...

Well said.

I agree and disagree...

Best harmonizers? Bone, yes I agree.

Best fast rap ever? Tech N9ne and Twista, no question.

Snow has nothing to do with it. Reggae in general tends to be fast paced. Just listen to their first album, 'Faces of Death'. They do that Reggae shit throughout the whole thing.

haha damn this shit is hilarious bone biting snow, regardless bone thugs are the shit, they perfected their craft. i know twista and do or die had a diss track about the same issue, and bone thugs came back on that batman soundtrack. like homie said above, i think to some degree you are going to be influenced by artists you like and your environment around you. i think BTNH kinda fell off but ill still listen to krayzies solo albums

Obviously bone fell off but that 2nd album had the most replay value ever. I'm sorry but I can't help but laugh when snow gets put in the same sentence as bone

That's the dumbest shit I've heard in a while.

You a 90's baby?

Come up on 3-6 after Hustle & Flow dropped?

Because I remember a time back in the 90's when if you didn't know the newest 3-6 song and chorus, then you were behind the times.

I also remember people knowing their music more than the mainstream acts out at the time.

Nobody put it together better than 3-6... well, maybe Cash Money, but this thread isn't about either of those artists.

3-6 has never been on some crazy speed shit.

i remember that three 6/bone beef back in the early 90's....think it was in a vibe or source mag where bone was featured and they were in memphis doing a show and people were calling them thuggish ruggish busters...bone was evacuated out of the venue where layzie called memphis a bunk ass town...and then that sparked three 6 mafia to come out with the "live by yo rep b.o.n.e. dis ep" followed by mystic stylez....

three 6 mafia and bone had different styles.....lord infamous and koopsta knicca were the only 2 out that could or even had that "bone flow" how they twisted and sometimes sing...

i believe bone came with their style first and others followed...twista had a different flow than bone, crucial conflict sounded different...do or die bit bones style with the harmonies and speed rap..i really think they were only put out because they did sound like bone and at that time bone was hot

Bone is the masters..
Bone, Tech 9, Twista.. they all raw..

But Bone Over all with Harmony... that magical demonic flow they got..
spiritual.. and their fast raps.. mixed with harmony.. is raw..

Tech 9 added other elements to the fast rap that made it hot also..

Snow is cool. but thats just jamacian rap..

and Bizzy's voice is WAY better than Snow's.. i doubt Snow
could even sing like.. or even rap a WHOLE verse.. super fast
like Bizzy can... please!!

so your telling me. bizzy bone, before bizzy was even bizzy, couldn't of been sitting on his couch, counting food stamps. smokin crack, gettin his hair braided, watching "The Box" and Snow came on and Bizzy was like. "UGGHHH!! That shit sounds sick. Yo layzie, wish, flesh!?!? You heard hear how that white boy is rappin'? i bet i could come raw like that if i had that style. Call krayzie and tell him to order the Snow video" So bizzy pressed play on his tape deck and started write rhymes. and created the Bone Flow. I bet he even called himself SNOW BONE, but the group was like "naw Bizzy now it sounds like you stealing his shit." and Bizzy was like "yeah pimp you right, i should call myself Bizzy, cause my rhymes be bizzy and fast like how Snow is..

So ya'll telling me theres no way in hell bizzy could of had a slight bit of influence?

Go to hell. its a true story.
