Yeah I agree wit mitch in that one. Dago niggas aint followin LA. Niggas in LA is lovin the Dago rap scene. A lot of they new artists is tryin pick up what niggas in Dago is doin. Ecay uno and Mitch do get love in LA.My cousin from LA / monrovia/pasadena and his patnas popped in a CD wit Mitch and Ecay on it when I went to visit him. I was suprised but happy as well cuzz the word is gettin around about Dago artists this was 2years ago!! Niggas have evolved since then. Remember dago is Americas finest city!! Lots of white folks have tried to stop us from doin it the, bay got more black folks up there. It been that way up their since the 60's. Thats where most of the black people moved to when they came from the South. So its been a lot of politics involved in the past. We got new radio stations that our willing to play local artists music know. In the past it was a lot harder. With the emergence of 98.9 more internet access via music websites. There are more outlets for our music. Were on our way. It just takes time. Look how long mithcy, lilcs, cricet, ecay have been in the business. Niggas just gotta stick wit it. Travel, work hard!!!

BUT FIND U DO U AND BE THE BEST AT IT AND MAKE SURE YOURE 1 MORE ADDED FLAVOR TO THE MANY OF SAN DIEGO RAP MUSIC...P.S IF WE DO THAT 1 OF US IS BOUND TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING UNIQUE THAT ONLY SAN DIEGO HAS THAT WE CAN ALL BE APART OF!

LET'S GET IT!
Now, I feel you on that. Especially when you said, "coming up with somethin' unique that only San Diego has". If we do that, then we're there! But us as Dago natives, should also try to look at our ownselves from the outside. Of course MOST of us are going to support our own, but let's look at it like this, "if I wasn't from Dago, would I think this shit is hot". Let's TRY to put ourselves in what a stranger would think, that heard and seen us for the first time on a video. Image is real BIG in this rap shit. Shit, it's one of the most important things!!!! So what's the image we're going to project in that first big Dago video, because whoever gets on BET or MTV real heavy from Dago first (probably Mitch or Rocc), that first impression is how our City is going to be viewed. And we do have different types of music, but is our image that we're going to give the rest of the world going to be different? Niggaz don't have to impress me, shit I'm already impressed by a lot of Dago niggaz. I'm convinced we HAVE WHAT IT TAKES, WE JUST HAVE TO CONVINCE EVERYBODY ELSE, AND IMAGE IS A PART OF THAT. I'M NOT SAYIN' BE LIKE SOMEBODY ELSE. LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE SAID IN THIS POST "DO YOU" AND LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS. BUT THAT FIRST "BIG" VIDEO WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ON TV IS GOING TO BE VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Like people mentioned showcasing the beach. That's cool, but what about the sets. Should we do both? Or should we do the typical "the homies is deep" video? We bang. I think that was a good idea to capitalize off the beauty of Dago. Make muthafuccas wanna come here, and see why we have some of the finest broads, and best scenery, but at the same time, we have to let em' know we're real too! Like someone also said earlier, that's one thing that is unique about Dago rap, MOST of our rappers are real, and really lived what they said, BUT it's been so much fake shit out there with the same stories, will that still get us over?

All I'm doin' is asking questions, lookin' for answers, because I SURE don't have the answers. Just tryin' to get everybody thinkin'. Instead of sayin', "just keep makin' good music", because we've been doin' that, and that alone is not the answer...

MAKE IT HAPPEN DAGO!!!!

As long as the West is in the limelight and quality music is being made, shit will sell regardless of the part of the coast you're from. I don't think artists needs to do anything extraordinary to grab attention, instead, they should just ride the wave that 40's created and build from there.

I just read the first page of this thread. Forgive me if I repeated anything that was already stated.

I've been thinkin' about this the last couple of days, and just lookin' at the rap game as a whole, and what I came to realize is, is that Dago doesn't have it's own identity, as far as the rest of the nation is concerned. And that's what we need in order to actually blow. Follow me on this.

Now as far as California's concerned LA is known NATIONWIDE for gang bangin', and the Bay has their own thang too, with the slang, cars etc. But WHAT'S OURS? Now I'm seein' some young niggaz in Dago acting like they're from the Bay, and the rest of Dago niggaz in the streets are bangin'. But to the REST of the Country, if we came out on some gang bang shit it would look like we're following LA,(even though Dago niggaz and essays have been bangin' since the late 60's early 70's). And if we came out with the Bay niggaz style it would look like we're following the Bay. We don't have our own identity to make us unique!

For example look at New Orleans when they blew, they had their own talk, dress, sound, culture etc. The same with Houston with their culture, and Atlanta too. And now the Bay is blowing bac up with their own slang, sound, style and culture! What do we have to say is our own culture that people will grasp and feel nationwide that's different from the rest of the country sayin' we're following LA or the Bay???? Don't get me wrong, we have a gang of talent, but look at all the cities that blew up, they had their own uniqueness. We really don't have our own slang (a little bit, but...), and if MTV did "on the bloc in Dago", what would we have to offer besides sayin' that we bang. That shit is old homies(especially to the rest of the world). I seen somebody post on here sayin' "is EDM even active anymore". WHO GIVES A FUC ABOUT THAT STUPID SHIT. I know I got more than 5 homies than own homes (including me), in THEIR OWN NAME, all from legal money, and 3 were in the feds with me. And none of my homies are pro athletes! This rap shit bought my house, and 300 on 22's, so I ain't really trippin' on tryin' to blow up to superstar level. My shit is legit(I file a Shc. C and 1065 every year on my taxes. Anybody with a real business know's what I'm talkin' about). I'm puttin' this out there for the young Dago niggaz comin' up that got heat. Try to come up with a new angle to make us unique!!!!

Even though we know bangin' is not new to us. Shit ALL of us grew up in it, and that's all some of us know, but still the REST of the world is still going to think we're following LA, with the Crip and Blood shit. I'm not sayin' don't represent, but that can't be our selling point to the world, because it won't get accepted, especially when people don't think Dago is ghetto or gangsta anyway. And believe me, I'm NOT trying to discourage, I'm tryin' to encourage!

And I don't think the gang bang rap is going to blow us up, because personally I don't even really want to hear that shit too much. I want to hear niggaz spit, that's going to motivate me to get on my hustle. Some intelligent street turned businessman shit. That's the page I'm on. Like I said in the song I did with the Jetsons "I took a jail business plan/and became a businessman/the transformation of a hustla is what your witnessin'.... I'm tryna' to inspire my street niggaz to be businessman, even if you start off with illegal money, but fuc illegal money, cuz real gangstaz want successful businesses. I know I got off topic, but all I'm sayin' is we need another angle to come at the world, where niggaz worldwide are going to feel us, and not think we're following the Bay or LA! I remember some nigga from LA on here said that in a post, that all Dago does is follow LA or the Bay, and that's how outsiders look at us(even though we know different). And it's fucced up, because the way the game is set up, we have to go to LA to get put on, and get accepted by them. And on the real a lot of LA niggaz really look down on Dago niggaz. The real ones know what I'm talkin' about.

The rap game is constantly changing. It's to the point now where skills aren't even a major factor. Look at all the average popular rappers, including Young Jeezy and others. Don't get me wrong, I like Young Jeezy, but it's his content, and the fact that Atlanta has their OWN thang that got him over. So if we don't come up with somethin' that's our own to the rest of the world, we're going to have a long uphill battle in this rap game. So to all the new young niggaz with heat in Dago try to come up with somethin' that's our own style. Or to the rest of Dago, we probably already have our own style, and culture, and we don't realize yet. I don't know, but we better do somethin', because I hate when people say we're following the Bay or LA, and we still strugglin in this game. Come wit' it Dago niggaz!!!! I know you got it in you!!!! And believe me, like I said earlier, I'm not tryin' to discourage, I'm tryin' to encourage!
What up CS I dont know you personally but I heard of you and seen the DVD you got. That nigga that asked if EDM was still active was talking about one of my post. I was given Mooch Massive props for having some heat. The nigga was hatin pure and simple but when you spoke on it he wanna change it up. I dont speak on niggas I dont know or have never dealt with. I know that nigga Mooch personally and have put in work with that nigga.

@Baby Calboyy, Mooch does have super heat. And I don't know if you know, but we put out a group album called the Mob Kingz. The group is me, Mooch, Playboy Floyd, Mic Loc (The M.I.C.), and Baby Ant. And Mooch is all over it. My goal was to let him, and the rest of the homies get some shine. He's on most of the songs, and has a solo song on the album. The albums is called "The Hardest Shit Out". The shit is heated! Ain't nothin' fuccin' wit' it IN MY OPINION, and 99% of the people that have HEARD IT, agree. So if you want some more Mooch shit, snatch that up.

And as far as that other shit ya'll speakin' on goes, I ain't trippin'. But on some real shit, it ain't that serious my nigga. Young Hogg is cool people, and I'm sure I'm going to say the same shit about you when I meet you homey. @ Young Hogg, same for you folks. None of this bullshit is even worth it. It just seems like ya'll niggaz had a little misunderstanding that escalated. Both of ya'll niggaz should say fuc the bullshit, and get money, in my opinion. But if you see different, then to each his own...

Let's get bac on topic, because this shit is important.
