@DFresh, if you are going to attempt to insult me by repeatedly telling me I'm wrong, at least insult me by providing some evidence on WHY I'm wrong. I will be more than happy to admit that I am wrong, if the proper evidence is presented.

Simply telling people they are wrong, without stating why they are wrong nor providing any evidence on why they are wrong, is moronic.

You still wrong....

i dont have adhd i just dont like to do homework.

lol..

There is a lot of criteria to be met in order to be diagnosed with ADHD. Simply not liking to do homework and liking video-games does not mean you have ADHD.

Now if you COULDN'T do your homework even if you WANTED to. If no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't concentrate, focus, or complete an assignment, then there might be a problem. Not necessarily ADHD, there are all types of learning disorders (e.g. math, english).

Right on, Kayvee. And I appreciate you reading about it. Some people are so quick to shut down the possibilities and would rather yell or punish their child, for something that the child has no control over. It's a sad thing.

I stated it is a SYMPTOM. If a parent notices their child is playing video games excessively, without being able to focus on much else, that is a BIG sign. It would be worth looking into, for sure.

I never stated VIDEO GAME PLAYING = ADHD. You are misinterpreting my statements. Please read the quote from the article that I've posted on the previous page. It really helps explain my argument.

define excessively...

It's not so much the 'excessively' part, as the also not being able to focus on anything else part. If you're a video-game addict but you're still able to function, complete your school work, stay on task with chores, etc., then I don't see a problem besides a slight addiction to video-games.

Kids with ADHD are more prone to video-game addictions, because its one of the few things that is able to stimulate their brain and keep it from being bored (inattention).

So like I've stated, if you notice your child is finding it difficult to complete tasks, and concentrate on anything other than playing video-games, then I would be concerned.
