mrtonguetwister, yeahh it usually ends up being like 800-1000 before all the rebates. but hey, you do end up getting the money back. you just gotta remember to send that in, they got so many rebates out cause the companies hope that you won't remember to send them out in time or wtv so they dont have to end up paying you. it's worth it in the long run. i dunno, consider it. look around in the ads and look out for how much rebates you get back. and if you do decide to buy one, make sure you go hella soon cause the cheap ones always run out quickkkk. good luck with whatever comp you get thoughh

you said it,switched over to mac maybe 8 years ago and NEVER have i had one problem. never had to reinstall my OS,deal with viruses or any of those things. its worth the extra money for the reliability to me. rather have a $2000 computer that i never have to worry about than a $800 one that needs maintenance every 6 months...its the old saying " you get what you pay for".
Im buildn one, eventually parts are set to come in on monday, an amd 3700 with 1mb of cache, so i can stream samples easy. I had a hard TIME with the motherboard tho, didnt no shit bout computers, someone recommended one...hope its good. I hate those lighted cases, i rather get a stainless steel refridgerator like case than that, even tho it costs way more, like 100 bucks.
yea mayn, MACs all the way. it'll be a year next month since i bought my powerbook and i havnt had one problem or virus or anything. my shit only froze once out of the whole year (which was last week). fuck that scavenger hunt martha stewart-build-your-own-computer shit. not my job, got better things to do and i kno damn well my ass cant put together no computer even if i wanted to. the extra money is worth it.
MACs look good, ebay had a liquidation 1.8 ghz g5 sold for 850...thats really cheap if it workd. PCs stay good, myn hasnt crashed since i got it except for the time when everyone got that worm thing that was all over the news, even then i rebooted it when if i waited i coulda got the patch to fix it. Yeah it sucks, i aint gonna go on the internet on my new machine at all.

i got a 566mhz emachine,7gb, and 256 ram upgraded from a 32mb for $500 way back in like 2000 but i hear all the time "i spent $1,000's on my computer and i hate it or chit wont work",...i wanna tell them so bad but i hold off on that,....aside from upgradeing that ram,...it's been worry free ever since
SLIKK RIKK made that beat,and he used a kurzweil k2000 i beleive, thats been his set up for a long time that and for drums he uses those roland or boss dr series.he might have used something different cause that is an older song..he used to not sequence at all and just record on a multitrack each part or instrument all the way through.I dont personally know anyone who makes beats with software,not to knock it,most I know sequence with the mpc and play keyboards and modules.I was in a recording forum and a guy had a motif and was thinking of getting an mpc for his drums and some guy was like yeah use the motif to sequence the drums...Im not saying the sequencer on the motif aint good etc....but when you buy an mpc you buy it for the sequencer first and foremost.if you use the motif as the sequencer dont even waste the money on a mpc...if the arguement is the drums and samples sound better...Id just buy an older sampler real cheap..walah!!!
ay, i just got the parts today, i installed the motherboard, and i forgot about the thermal paste so im gonna start doin the cpu tommarow cuz closest comp usa is in modesto, n im tired of going there, , but yeah, that motherboard was fuckn hard to install! Well yea, i ordered some more stuff, a 80 gb hd for the OS and programs (got a 200 one for sample streaming, and mouse, keyboard, dvd burner, but i got a question, should i get windows 64 or just xp pro, i can download 64 and check it out, any of you have it? and do i just connect everything together and then turn it on, or should i turn it on at some point???? You cant believe how dizzy i got when i took everything outta the boxes tho, 4 manuals, and cables n shit ya know. Over all looks good now.

I have a Dell Optimum 8600 or something with the 3 ghz p4 like you got and for a year it was money but now its slowed down HELLA and got some fucked up shit that isnt spywares or viruses. I think windows got corrupted somehow. I just did a backup and sometime in the next month I am going to format the HD. That should take care of the bullshit,
