Secondly, IMP is just as tight as any group from the MidWest. Im a huge Crucial fan, I been listenin to em forever, but theyre not on the same level as RBL, IMP, Luniz...

The MW has a shitload of tight rappers, and so does the Bay, you cant argue that one is better than the other because theyre not, and its also a matter of opinion. For every MW rapper you think is tight I can name a Bay one thats just as sick

Back to the East Coast, I think a majority of it is shit because everyone out there thinks they can rap nowadays. for every Big L and Nas theres 10 Jimmy Jones'. Its also because they do a lot of the shit for the money. Fab has some tight shit, but then I see him in a B2K video wearing Von Dutch so I lose all respect for him.

I've been havin this convo with some East Coast cats over in another forum and I can't seem to make them understand why everyone else thinks their artists are wack.

They named cats like Mob Deep, Wu Tang, Killarmy, Nas, etc. And I told them they were wack as hell and explained that it's because of their shitty production coupled with their dreaded New York flow. And that's where they got caught up in, "what dreaded New York flow?".
We've all heard it, the boring, too laid back lazy, sounds like they're talking flow. It sounds a lot like modern poetry and not "music"....
In my opinion, it is this flow style that makes these cats so wack.

What do you guys think?
Some how these East Coast cats don't understand what I'm stressin but to me it is clearer than water.
Specially when you compare the good East Coast artists with the wack ones. For instance, Cuban Link. His style is more of a West Coast type. Actually, it wouldn't be fair to call it a West Coast type of flow. It should be called a non-New York style flow. Cuz from what I've heard so far, Mid West and Southern cats sound similar to West Coast artists and vice versa.

I believe its what your taste in music is. I like both Bay/West and east coast music. When you say the lyrical content is more like layed back poetry, that is very true and I dont think there is nothing wrong with that. Rap I believe is the child of beat poetry, words and storys put over music. Do some research of one of the originators beat poetry and Hip Hop 'The Last Poets' when ever I go to NY I get to kick it with my mentor Abioudun Oyewole one of the members of The Last poets and he tells me storys of all this began and why the style is the way it is. Dont knock something just because you dont like it.

The only East Coast I listen to is Wu-Tang, and Nas. Mostly Wu-Tang. Even Tupac said he liked Wu-Tang. They tear it up with their lyrics. Most other East Coast shit sounds like freestyle to me, or they just talk about crap that I don't care about.
