I would totally agree with you, if I thought any of the kids who didn't come to class were going to see Obama because they wanted to better themselves. They weren't. Garnette only 2% of them will listen to, or read a transcript of, his speech, much less fight the crowds to see him.

The thing is Obama might be the most down to earth president we have but........................................ that doesn't matter. He cannot and I mean CANNOT work for the people when 95% of congress is lobbied for corporate and/or personal interests. The U.S. Governmental system is a joke nowadays. The military industrial complex is alive and going full steam. They have created what is called a permanent war economy, which means our economy is dependent on preparing for wars and going to war. Look at how much we spend on defense.

Sorry but no president is going to do any good for the country when they have lobbyist and corporate CEO's bidding on contracts through congress and winning them without any oversight. The American system of Capitalism is fucked and will continue to decline unless we fix the military industrial complex. My thoughts on the matter and I don't think they will change.

Obama can do all the good in the world but he can't stop the military industrial complex and so another president = puppet.
