crushed the army of . . . Georgia.
Georgia’s military is still intact and still fighting.

the closest democratic nation to its borders, Georgia.
Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine no longer have direct land borders with Russia?

. I wonder, does America still have any credibility left with the rest of the world, for the rhetoric from our politicians to even matter
No, it doesn’t.

If America's condemnation does move the rest of the world against Russia, would Russians really respect or accept America's stand against their actions
No, the U.S. is in no position to take any kind of military action against Russia. The most that could be expected would be for them to rally other allies and try some kind of economic punishment, which could easily backfire on the rest of Europe if they try.

. I personally think that Vladamir Putin (Russia's new Czar) is the most dangerous man in the world.
I personally think you are fucking stupid.

The way Russia attacked Georgia, is a carbon-copy of the way America first attacked Iraq (shock & awe).
Not even close.

Anyhow, I just wondered what other people may think, or if people even care?
I think you need to stop watching CNN and Fox News because you are totally out of touch with reality.

for people thinkin american influence is "non existint".....your outta your mind....the cease fire happened because someone stood up and said something......russia wouldnt of stoped anything short of conquering if it werent for someone standing up for the lil country....
France's President Sarkozy, negotiated the cease fire. He actually traveled between Russia and Georgia, and spoke with both presidents...

Bush is just spitting "harsh language" from the safety of the Rose Garden, at the White House.

The "Cease Fire" had nothing to do with the United States. The U.S. is in no position to stop Russia in Georgia nor is their incentive to do so. Bush can talk and posture all he wants, but there is little to no meaningful action that the U.S. can take in this situation other than to whine and complain as they have. The U.S. has not moral, ethical, or historical ground to stand on from which to criticize Russia on these events, let alone take action.

The U.S. has no respect for sovereignty or territorial integrity of other countries. Why should Russia?

Georgia's government is still intact. The U.S. invades and over throws governments all the time. Why should Russia be any different?

We're now in the position of holding other countries to a higher standard than we hold our selves to?

You seem to have a lot of messages about other people's opinions, boy. What is your opinion of this situation? Enlighten the stupid fucks with your omnipotent vision and unlimited knowledge....Some people can appreciate and use new knowledge, while others just like to be armchair "told yo so's"...Sprinkle us with your take, or you just can just keep "telling us so".

GOOD POINT THERE. U.S. WENT AGAINST THE GRAIN WITH EVERYBODY, ATTACKING IRAQ. SO NOW THERE ISNT ANY MORE HIGH GROUNDS FOR THIS COUNTRY TO TAKE.
