Lions running back Jahvid Best grew up in Richmond, California. But he wasn’t a fan of the nearby 49ers. Best rooted for the Raiders. He didn’t like the Niners.
So he’s looking forward to Sunday’s visit from the local team he loathed.
“I grew up a Raider fan, so definitely my eyes are set on San Francisco this week because it’s a team I grew up hating,” Best said earlier this week, according to the Detroit Free Press. “So it’s definitely a little plus for me.”
Best is coming off a career performance against the Bears, with 163 yards rushing on Monday Night Football. Despite the fact that he has never liked the 49ers, it’ll be hard for him to match that effort, given the power of the San Fran defense.
Later this year, Best gets a chance to play his favorite team. On December 18, he gets to go home for a game against the Raiders.
