Al Jefferson has the potential to replace KG's scoring and rebounding. I think he put up 16 and 10 last season. Green is athletic and fun to watch. Should have a Bright future. They get a huge chunk of KG's salary off the books with Ratliff's expiring deal. They get 2 future 1st round picks. Then on top of that they also get Telfair and Gomes, 2 guys who still have plenty of potential to be solid players in the league. All this for an aging star at the end of his prime who will be entering decline within the next few years. Kevin McHale killed Boston in this deal. Danny Ainge absolutely ruined the future of the Celtics for many years to come. They should be real good for a few years, then theyll fall all the way off and wont have any young players or draft picks to rebuild with.
I couldnt agree more... as hard as it is to say, this is the best deal McHale has made since joining the Wolves.
This is basically the Herschel Walker trade of the NBA, except this time it works in a Minnesota fan's favor.
The most players EVER traded for one single player in the history of the league... that's sayin somethin
As much as I loved KG for what he did on the court and off in the community, when you think in terms of the future for this team this is the best scenario I could've seen coming from this, especially with the whole league KNOWING KG was gonna be traded... wow, I always thought McHale was a moron, but Ainge definitely takes the cake and then some..
Al Jefferson is gonna be a star, Gerald Green is gonna be a star... Telfair, who knows? A change of scenery cant do any harm, might improve his outlook.. throw in Gomes and Ratliff for the hell of it... AND 2 FIRST ROUNDERS???? wow
I do have to laugh at the Wolves becoming the Celtics of the West, first Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, and the other fool they got for Szczerbiak and Olowakandi's worthless bags of flesh, now they get basically the rest of the team for Garnett... lmao
