HOW CAN THE WARRIORS DROP THE BALL WHEN THEY DECIDED TO STOP GUNNING FOR HIM A WHILE BACK? HENCE THE FACT THAT THEY DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ANY OF THEIR YOUNG CORE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS ON THEIR WAY OUT SOON? YEAH HE IS STILL IN THE UPPER ECHELON BUT HE HAS A HEAVY CONTRACT EQUIVALENT TO MAJORITY OF GS'S YOUNG PLAYERS, THEY'RE BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE.

AS FOR BOSTON, AINGE SAID THAT THE YOUNG "TALENT" THEY HAVE AND TRYING TO BUILD FOR THE FUTURE IS NOT WORKING. THEY "HAVE A 2-3 YEAR WINDOW TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP NOW, GET GARNETT WHILE THE OWNER OF THE T-WOLVES CHANGES HIS MIND."

Bad thread title maybe, though I was hoping for the Warriors to pull it off. The main point is KG to Boston.

A few comments:

Pistons have Chauncy Billups, Rasheed Wallace, Richard Hamilton...those three, whether you like it or not, are superstars.

The Wolves aren't getting anthing that great with those players. Green...yes. Everyone else? BOOOOO! The best piece of the puzzle is Ratliff's expiring contract, with a first round pick coming in a close second.

LOL @ the superstars the Warriors didn't give up.

Please tell me youre kidding....please. So, Chauncy is in the same category as Kobe? Garnett? Duncan? McGrady? I dont think so...not even CLOSE.

Most kids idolize players they see in commercials and are commercialized by the league...unlike Chauncy, Rasheed or Richard. Just cus you get voted to the ALL-STAR team, does NOT mean you are a SUPERSTAR player. They are all SOUND players that work WELL in a system. THey have won championships due to their UN-superStar behvaior...becuase, quite frankly, they are NOT SUPERSTARS. THey dont dunk over people, make dramatic behind the ear passes or jump up and down or tear their shirts off when they win a meaningless game in Feburary.

LOL@Chauncy being a SUPERSTAR.

I could see the arguement for sheed, but not rip or chauncy, they are not superstars or even big stars. I do feel that the pistions will still do HELLA better than the celtics, but thats because they got a team and boston only has 3 players :)

Al Jefferson has the potential to replace KG's scoring and rebounding. I think he put up 16 and 10 last season. Green is athletic and fun to watch. Should have a Bright future. They get a huge chunk of KG's salary off the books with Ratliff's expiring deal. They get 2 future 1st round picks. Then on top of that they also get Telfair and Gomes, 2 guys who still have plenty of potential to be solid players in the league. All this for an aging star at the end of his prime who will be entering decline within the next few years. Kevin McHale killed Boston in this deal. Danny Ainge absolutely ruined the future of the Celtics for many years to come. They should be real good for a few years, then theyll fall all the way off and wont have any young players or draft picks to rebuild with.

i mean, Paul Peirce & Ray Allen is "ok", BUT adding KG with them, ON PAPER, makes them top 3 or 4 in the EAST !!! Jefferson, Green, Telfair, is NOT gonna get u into the playoffs !! maybe in 5 years.........

i have mixed emotions on the W's not gettin GArnett !!! First off, i think they fucked up on Draft Night, thought they had KG in the bag, but oh well........I think with JRIch gone, Monta, Belenelli, and Aziabuke can fill the void and grow........now if they can get a PF, maybe a Drew Gooden to grab some boards, and maybe keep Barns or Petirus, still would be pretty entertaining !!!

i hated seein jefferson go, but im sick of rebuilding. we're in the 15th year of a 3 year rebuilding plan. ainge knows hes toast without this move. basically he was saving his job. theres a small window for success but its a big one considering the east isnt that deep.

yeah well youth is all weve had and it wasnt getting us anywhere anytime soon. pierce would have been gone had allen or garnett not been brought in you can bet on that. you really think he was gonna stick around and wait for the young guys? hes in his prime and the tank doesnt have much left in it.

I'm glad the Warriors didnt get Garnett. They wanted too much, Monta and Biedrins plus Harrington and Wright..fuck that. Wright is gonna be dope its just a matter of time. They needs to get Drew Gooden or Wilcox to go with Perovic, Wright, Harrington, etc....we got more big men then last year. What's funny is that they accepted Boston's offer even though the Warriors' was way better even without Biedrins. What the fuck were they thinking. I guess they really wanted Ratliff's expiring contract and picks.

Anyone listen to Bob Fitzgerald on KNBR today? I called as Peter on 880 freeway and asked him what the Warriors were gonna do for a big man..he dropped a bunch of Warrior knowledge..

Did you call a little before 1pm? lol....i heard this one dude ask Fitz about a big man. Fitz agreed with the caller that Gooden will be a solid pickup for the Warriors.
