The artists that I work with or have worked with don't make it the focal point of their music or their interactions with others to always bring up the environment they grew up in. That's a crutch for somebody who isn't confident in their music. They let their music be the reason you're interested in them.
All this "we hard too" stuff that artists like V-Boy keep throwing around just tells me that mufuckas is seriously trying to do 'this rap shit' for the wrong reasons.
So what? You want the whole world to know that West Side Redwood City is a scary place to be? What the fuck is that? Who really cares?? Make good music, wear better hats. In the case of V-Boy, he puts West Side Redwood City in his profile because he didn't think that "Redwood City" by itself sounded hard enough. He's a rapper, he has to be hard, right?

Fact is that where your from is gonna play a big part in your rap carreer regardless. If you from Redwood City, you aint gonna get respect. personally , i've given Vboy his chance.....when i first seen the nam,e "violent boy" i didnt think i was gonna feel the cats music...yeah i judged a book by it cover in a way....i just though "violent boy" was somewhat uncreative , and with "V-boy"
i pictured a 5'1" filipino rapper with a heavy accent and "RPB" tattoos....lol...
I've listened to the cat whole album, and while he may not be the worst BART rapper I've ever heard, i just didnt dig the music....i played the whole album on Nridaz...skipped almost every track and laughed at a few....but I've heard much worse,especially on here and from cats i've met through here....
i dont think Vboy says he "popped glocks at cops" or any other fake gangsta shit in his rhymes....( i said "i dont think"...i might be wrong)
i think he has created a buzz around his name from here, but so what....

Well I'm the guy with the Black jacket on the far right of one of those pics, I was there to try to sell some of my beats trying to put myself out. Alot of the people on the board who talk all your shit don't know V and what hes about. Them other dudes are youngsters just trying to have some fun. They are some 16-17 year olds and V was being cool to them hooking them up with studio time. The dudes were real excited to just do their thing, they might not be hard ass gangsters or whatever but who are you to judge some teenagers comon now thats weak.
