What goes around...

comes around. For anyone who has worked there, like me, you could see the writing on the wall. I do feel for Violet Brown and the truly good people there. However, the corporate office in Torrance and also the district regional offices were not without their share of arrogant assholes. I mean, they had already been in trouble with one bankruptcy already, a fucked up partnership with Checkout.com, wasted millions on Blockbuster Music and made some of the worst management decisions of any chain. Meanwhile, their VP of Operations was getting a $40K a year raise while the "lowly" employees were getting nothing in terms of pay hikes. Y'all ever taken a look at their budgets? They had so many chances, yet they dropped the ball over and over again. Now, the luck has run out. Mr. "W" is on his deathbed.

They dug their own grave.

Only the smart stores that truly respect their customers and employees will survive in this era now. The bullshit won't cut it anymore.

^^^ I knew a couple people that have worked for Warehouse and they always said the company was full of shit
You don't even know the half of it, dawg. What I wrote above is the good stuff. Shit, they laid a bunch of us off without even telling us till we showed up for work. No reason. No letter. No nothing. Just "good-bye".

It hurts to see The Wherehouse go out of business cuz that's where I've bought cd's my entire life. I used to go in there and just take chances on tapes when I was young, and if you didn't like them, you had 3 takebacks allowed before you were stuck with the last one.. I used to do that all the time.

It hurt to see them raise their prices higher and higher when music just consistently got worse.. I knew they would be in trouble and that records would not sell as well when I started hesitating on cd's around the $15-16.99 range... the last cd I bought from them came to $20.21 and I knew no matter how tight the music was, that I couldn't afford to hang with that price, and it was only a matter of time before the business side would catch up with them and dealing with downloads.

I didn't know that much about Violet Brown though, and it's good to get some positive info about her...
