are you driving for them now?

lol my brother in law just got fired from there today... so my contractor (who owns routes in both ground and home) is planning on moving him to home delivery because he's less likely to fuck things up there
NAW I'M NOT WORKING THERE (YET) BUT TO MY KNOWLEGE FEDEX GROUND IS A FED/GOV JOB MEANING THERE NOT BIG ON FIRING PEOPLE AND THERE ARE NO LAY-OFFS, BUT IF I'M WRONG ABOUT THIS PLEASE SET ME STRAIGHT... I HAD NEVER WANTED TO BECOME A DRIVER ANYWAYS,BUT I'M REALLY INTERESTED ON GETTING INSURANCE/BENEFITS FROM THAT COMPANY...

Cuzo if you can find something else do it but if you really really need the money go for it. Its a hard job depending on what location your at. Like if your in a big city that shit is straight hectic like dude previously said mentally and physically. I use to work for UPS and they treat you like shit and if someone calls off you have to do their work. 70% quit before 2 weeks thats how bad it was. This was in a major city though. I got injured once and bout sliced my finger off and them mf's was gon write me up for getting injured...you ever heard of such nonsense?

I think its after 30 days at UPS, but I might be wrong. Its been a while since I worked there
30 days til seniority, but 6 months til you get full health and dental benefits. You get vision after 3 I think. You get education assistance right from the jump off tho. You can get reimbursement for the semester that passed, or apply for a waiver for the next semester.

For doode talkin about being treated like shiet, that's why we have shop stewards foo.. You can miss as MANY days as you want, as long as you don't do nothing overtly dangerous you will NEVER get fired. The Union always backs you up no matter what. It is a demanding job, but the best advice is "dont give a fuck". I work at the metro-dc hub and we pretty much got that mentality down.

I worked at both....and both pretty much sucked....they strung me along saying that they would promote me to customer service (I would've been a driver, but I was under 21 at the time) they never ended up doing it, so I started going to other interviews & ended up being fired for punching in 1 minute late.

UPS was just hard ass work in the middle of the night....although I'm thinking of going back so I could get a work-out

you should just go to your local LTL freight company, if your in kansas there should be an Estes Express Lines or ABF near by...as long as you have forklift certification you should be able to get in and they usually start at 11 an hour for loading and unloading trucks with a forklift, and thats with no experience, i know that estes will even get you certified if you have forklift exp..be ready to take a drug test tho......good luck
