I grew up strugglin but not poor so I didnt have too much toys. I remembers...
nintendos, Voltron, Gobots. of course Transformers N GI Joe. Muppet Babies. Fraggle Rock.
But I have to agree, IF you were born 86-89', your not a 80's baby. By 90' you barely knew what the fuck.

DAMN I WAS THINKIN THIS SAME SHIT I JUST DIDNT THINK ABOUT POSTIN IT. THE 80s WASNT ALL THAT TO BE HONEST IT WAS THE DOPE AREA AND UR RIGHT ALOT OF PEOPLE DIED OVER IT IN THAT DECADE. I LIVED IN FRISCO IN THAT ERA. AND FRISCO WAS A CRAZY PLACE TO LIVE THEN IN THE 90s I MOVED TO NEW ORLEANS AND THEY CAUGHT THAT 80s WAVE THATS WHY N.O. WAS THE MURDER CAPITAL
i think you answered your own question though nonfiktion....the 80's was the beginning of a lot of fucced up shit and for some of us to have been born at that time & grow up during that decade its like a statement of what we had to deal with as lil kids to adapt & survive into the 90's (which had its fair share of fucced up shit as well) and now we have the aftermath of it all the new millennium where America aint nothin like it used to be.....thats why in one of my songs i say "80's baby / 90's gangsta /gone two thousand crazy...."
i dont know anyone who claims to be an 80's baby to "look cool" at least i dont.....but i do say it with some pride cuz these kids these days dont know the half of what the 80's was like.....although sometimes i feel like i should of been born sooner like in the late 60's early 70's cuz thats the generation ive mostly associated and identified with throughout my life....
oh and for the record i was born on the 2nd day of 1980.....but i feel what ya saying.....

What's been going on in Society within the past few years has been the worst since the mid 80's. I was born in '77 & I remember the 80's well. The mid 80's was the worst of the worse. Crack hit the streets like a ton of bricks & the murder rate throughout the US was @ an all time high in history. The 90's were better cuz cats born in the 60's & 70's gave the people a lil more hope but now we got mothafuckas that were born in the mid to late 80's all grown up & all your really seeing is a grown up crack babys. I loved the 80's but it was a wild ass time. Aint nothing to brag about being born in the 80's.

The 80's had the best cartoons & toys w/o a doubt. I feel sorry for the kids of the 90's & '00's cuz they had some bullshit toys & cartoons. Video games were just getting kicked off in the early 80's. I remember having an Atari. That shit had only one button & u had to get busy with just that one button. When the Nentindo came out that was a must have. I think they were 200$ back then when they first came to the United States. If u had a NES u were apart of an elite group of kids.

there was a mural down the st on paridise valley that depicted a blood with a gun on one side and a crip with a gun on the other...that made me want to do graffiti, not join a gang..
i was into arcades....i was kissin bitches around the time purple rain came out
nigga had a skateboard and shit we was playin apartment hide and seek..violence? who cared
i probably saw more violence and crime than i gave a fuck about..i was tryna get 75 cents to buy some candy or a few quarters to play time killers of sf2 at the pizza shop...bought quik is the name with my own money....they sold it to me....11 years old but it had a parental advisory i thought i was comin up
went to the pool and shit all the time
i was in vegas alot of my summers...wet and wild....all the new casinos being made...it was the shit...sleepovers w the homie when u was 12 and yo parents wanted to go out so ya friends parents watched toy... where u play nintendo all night
peoples moms cookin tha good ass breakfast for all the kids in the morning...man..summer time watchin tv all day...Boys and girls club...AYSO.....kung fu...aikido taekwondo...

Damn bringing it back real talk. Ain't even that old and I know all that shit tho. WWF/TMNT ice cream bars, cap guns, he man, little parachute men, mario, muppets haha, lazer tag, smear the queer, god damn! And being scared of the movie section haha! Yeah, back left corner of the store man scared the shit out of me all the random horror movies. Y'all remember, I think it was called, lemon squish or something. Like you had to have a high ass slide and kids would slide down it side ways with their feet hanging off and we'd see how many kids it takes to knock them off?
