Yes, all holidays do have people who observe them without knowing what they observe, but not all holidays have roots in religious observances, and when these religious observances cross over into other religions it does a diservice to both. And yes, I celebrate holidays, but these are not holidays like you would think (those usually practiced by the average american and so-called christians.) They are times of self evaluation/reflection, meditation and drawing closer to God. They are about remembering the past, what God did etc.
