Maybe the G-men are waiting on the A's to get the rights to San Jose which they'll have to pay big time for and then the Giants can rape the shit out of their pockets to extend Timmy and Cain? Hope so!
Lol, really? The only reason they have the rights is because they were given to the Giants by the A's in 1993. The A's/Giants are the only shared market teams that even still have territorial rights, if the MLB decides to disolve them the Giants wont have any say in the matter. As soon as MLB decides its in the best interest for baseball for the A's to move the Giants wont have any recourse aside from supporting the Better Sense San Jose protestors. And if out of some impossibility the Giants were able to extort the A's, how/why would the A's pay it? The Giants arent getting a dime from the A's, I'd be more worried about the Diamondbacks if I were yall.

Nobody gives a shit how or why the Giants have the territory rights. And you better damn well believe the Giants are going to rape the A's pockets for those rights. Going to be similar to what the Oriole's got(80mil) for the National's getting the rights to their territory. Lol @ A's. Pathetic ass organization. Funny listening to Townie on 95.7 talking about the A's attendance during all their success in the early 2000s. PATHETIC organization and pathetic fan base. Give that garbage back to KC.

Apparently Rowand and Cody Ross were bad mouthing The Giants..

Aaron Rowand bad mouths Giants, makes excuses

What’s up with all the Giants-bashing going on these days from the disgruntled and bitter members of San Francisco’s discard pile?

Last week, it was Cody Ross telling reporters how much better it is in Boston than San Francisco.

Then, yesterday, Aaron Rowand spewed out a bunch of garbage about the Giants, followed by a line of excuses longer than his best hitting streak.

Rowand, who is in the Miami Marlins’ spring training camp as a non-roster invitee, told Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald, “I haven’t been this excited about a season—and baseball itself—in a while. The last couple of years [in San Francisco] definitely weren’t as enjoyable as I would have hoped.”

He then made some excuses as to why he played so poorly in San Francisco:

“I just got shuffled in and out of the lineup, and it was tough to get a rhythm.”

And…

“Physically, it’s a difficult park to hit in…The gaps in that place are 404 in left-center and 421 in right-center, and because it’s only 309 down the line, the right fielder doesn’t play straight up. He plays in right-center. So when you hit line drives to right field or right-center field that you think are base hits and they end up outs, mentally you kind of feel like there’s no hits for me over there, and you start getting into bad habits.”

Even winning a World Series ring wasn’t good enough for Rowand:

“[Winning the World Series] was tough. We pulled together as a group. But as much as we all had fun and loved being around each other, there’s a part of that that’s difficult if you’re not getting consistent playing time. When you feel like you’re not performing to your capabilities, it becomes stressful.”

The Giants certainly overpaid for Rowand when they signed him to a five-year, $60 million dollar contract four years ago, following a 2007 season in which he batted .309 with 27 HR and 89 RBI for the Philadelphia Phillies.

He never came anywhere close to that kind of production again.

And, sadly, the Giants are still paying.

Rowand, who batted .233 with 4 HR and 21 RBI last year, will earn another $12 million dollars this season whether or not he catches on with the Fish. If Miami does sign him, the Giants will save about $480,000 (the league minimum, which will be paid by the Marlins).

Rowand used to carry the nickname “Crash,” because of his fearless style of play in the outfield. And I’m sure Phillies fans will always remember this play.

These days, I hear he goes by “Crash And Burn.” Because that’s exactly what’s happened to his career.

Despite his obvious bitterness, I’ll admit I’m kind of pulling for A-Row.

Hey, $480 grand is $480 grand, right?

Madison Bumgarner allowed one run in 2 2/3 innings and fanned four Sunday as a Giants split-squad and the Brewers played to a 1-1 tie.
The run came on an RBI single after Bumgarner was pulled from the game with two outs in the third. Bumgarner allowed only one hit and walked none, so it was a really nice first outing from him. He'll likely be the Giants' No. 2 starter, as the team wants to split up the righties and lefties.

Angel Villalona's name plate has been removed from his locker and that's a sign that his visa issue isn't close to being resolved, tweets Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com. The Giants first baseman is facing legal trouble in his native Dominican Republic.

There was a belief around baseball that Matt Cain was going to be an easy sign for the Giants, but that now seems less certain, writes Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. Word was that the hurler might even be prepared to sign back with the Giants for less than $100MM but that seems far less likely.

Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) worked out of the field Saturday with teammates for the first time this spring.
In his most significant action so far during camp, Sanchez fielded grounders and threw the ball to double-play partner Brandon Crawford. Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle says Sanchez, who is coming back from major shoulder surgery, "was not throwing the ball a great distance, but he was not babying it, either." The second baseman will sit out the first week of Cactus League games but is expected to be ready by Opening Day, barring a setback.

Tim Lincecum allowed one earned run in his two-inning Cactus League debut Saturday vs. the Diamondbacks.
Lincecum surrendered four hits, but he struck out two batters and issued no walks in the early tuneup outing. Sergio Romo, Jeremy Affeldt and Eric Surkamp also made appearances in the 9-6 loss to the Snakes.

Brandon Belt went 3-for-4 with a homer in Saturday's Cactus League opener against the Diamondbacks.
Belt is not assured a spot on the Giants' Opening Day roster despite possessing one of the offensively-challenged club's better bats. He may be able to change the minds of the Giants' decision-makers with a lights-out spring, and got off to a good start Saturday in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com reports that Dan Runzler has scheduled a consultation with Dr. James Andrews regarding his strained left shoulder.
Runzler suffered a lat strain at the end of last season and appears to have aggravated the injury 20 pitches into a bullpen session on Friday. "I felt a pull on the shoulder where I hurt it before," Runzler said. "Right now it's hard to make any more comments because we don't know the extent of it.'' An MRI showed Runzler's rotator cuff and labrum still intact but surgery hasn't been ruled out. Runzler needed a strong spring to win the final spot in the Giants' bullpen, and a lat strain will likely sideline him for up to six weeks.

Hector Sanchez followed up Saturday's homer by going 3-for-3 with a double and three RB as a Giants split-squad beat the Diamondbacks 11-1 on Sunday.
The Giants are considering keeping Sanchez as a third catcher and pinch-hitter, though they need to make sure they find him enough playing time if they go that route. One possibility would be to play Buster Posey once or twice per week at first base. Sanchez is just 22 and still rather raw, but his line-drive swing could make him useful off the bench.
