The Giants are in talks for Diamondbacks second baseman Kelly Johnson, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. He says the Giants like that Johnson can also play left field. I imagine they're also keen on the fact that he's under team control for 2011. SI's Jon Heyman tweets that the Diamondbacks rejected an offer of Joe Martinez plus another player for Johnson.

The Giants and Blue Jays are in serious talks for either Scott Downs or Jason Frasor, tweets SI's Jon Heyman. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports disagees, saying the Giants have no interest in Frasor and can't find common ground on Downs.

ESPN's Jayson Stark tweets that the Blue Jays have lowered the price on Frasor, but not on Downs or Jose Bautista.

downs is legit and kelly in arizona is a freak too. im not sure we can lock up both in trades cause they are both solid 2nd tier trade potential. we would have to give up too much i think.

The Diamondbacks, Giants, and Blue Jays have discussed a three-way deal, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. For the moment I'll leave the speculation to the commenters, but we know the Giants like Kelly Johnson from Arizona as well as Jays relievers and Jose Bautista. The Jays have had interest in Johnson as well.

CSN is reporting the Giants traded RHP Joe Martinez to the Pirates for LHP Javier Lopez. Javier Lopez is 32, has 2.79 ERA in 50 G (38.2 IP) holding lefties to .204 average. LOOGY guy. RH hitters have .315 average against him.

Not really happy that all we traded for is a shitty lhp. And gave up one of our better pitchers for it. Its like garko and freddy all over again. We stand pat while the dodgers and padres both upgrade.... Smh

he has a hot month and he is now barry bonds? he is doing his job. what he gets paid to do. i appreciate his hard work and the results thus far, but barry bonds he is not.
