After months of rumors and speculation, the Marlins finally traded Jorge Cantu. They sent him to the Rangers for AA righties Evan Reed and Omar Poveda in a deal that became official this evening. The Marlins will pay $600K of the $2.2MM remaining on Cantu's salary.

According the the San Francisco Chronicle's Hank Schulman, the Giants asked about Adam Dunn, but the Nationals requested Madison Bumgarner in return.
We imagine that didn't go over too well. The Giants probably aren't serious threats to land Dunn.
A source tells Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com that the Giants have asked the Orioles about left-hander Will Ohman, however a deal doesn't seem likely.
Ohman gave up three runs over one-third of an inning on Wednesday, inflating his ERA to 3.41 for the year, but he has actually been pretty solid, especially against left-handers. Even if they don't find a deal with the Giants, the O's should be able to acquire a decent prospect or two.
Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Giants are interested in Scott Downs.
They join a number of teams who are interested in the left-hander, but the Blue Jays are asking for top prospects in return at the moment. If they are truly intent on moving him, they'll have to lower their demands.
