we lack some speed.. we lack hitting in crucial times... i dont think guillen was the answer because given the circumstances dudes obp hasnt been above .314 in 3 or so years, he's a liability on defense the only reason we got him was because giants management saw he had 62 rbis and jumped all over it like flies on shit..

^^^ you cried and cried about the giants need a bat, they go out and get one of the best power hitters on the market and all of the sudden you hate the move??? who did you think they were gonna get? Pujols or Ryan Howard... shit doesnt work that way. and liability on defense??? get the fuck outta here, he has one of the best arms in the majors and even with his calf injury, he is 10x the outfielder Huff or Burrell is...

and u mustve missed the part where i said whats available is no good.. lets see where the fuck do i begin.... he has no range, runs slow, doesnt work counts or takes walks.. does not hit for average.. hes like thirty fucking four years old.. oh but wait guys he has one of the best arms in the majors!! Huff or Burrell ANY day over Guillen, Burrell can work counts and take walks, Huff has better range and shits on Guillen statistically hitting wise.

go check the stats for yourself... then come back here and read what you posted

Where is the Padres thread again? Oh right, there isnt one, so they gotta post in here.

Giants activated LHP Jeremy Affeldt from the 15-day disabled list.
Affeldt takes Chris Ray's place on the roster. The southpaw hasn't pitched since July 20 due to a slight tear of his left oblique muscle. He returns to a 4.11 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 37 appearances this season.

Giants placed RHP Chris Ray on the 15-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain.
Ray was also charged with four runs while failing to record an out against the Phillies on Tuesday night, so that probably gave the Giants some extra incentive to get him off the extra roster. Including last night's implosion, Ray has a 5.40 ERA in 20 appearances since coming over from the Rangers early last month.

i agree with Cut in that Guillen has a slight (+) arm.......has better defense than Huff and most definatly better than burrell when he is trying, but Guillen has been known to dog it in the past and to make costly mental mistakes........

personally i thought you guys needed a untility type player that could provide adequate defense and a solid bat off the bench.........just me but Giants already have too many outifelders....

define easy schedule............schedules are basically the same except for interleague...Giants never played the Yankees.......i believe SD and LA played BOTH NYY and BOS

wow really, the schedules mirror themselves. the padres will play a brutal schedule in sept....and who cares about the schedules, bottom line 9-2 against you guys. And so what if they dont do anything in the playoffs, you act as if the giants would. The padres were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league, yet they are the better between the two. Check the stats since youre so into them

There is no need to make a padres thread because there arent that many of us in here. I havent posted in this thread this season, except for this last weekend because of the big series between the two teams. After seeing some of the posts i decided to come back for comic relief....
