We need to at least give Boller a chance. Wasn't everyone saying fuck Campbell the last two years and saying shit about getting rid of him and keeping Gradkowski in. Now its the same shit with Boller. Let the man get the majority of reps at practice this week and see how he does next week before we decide how bad he is.

i hope Boller can do it but idk. hes never been a good QB. i think he had 1 kinda good year with the ravens. KC sucks so next week should be another win.

i remember when they use to call him Kyle "I should have been a" Boller! lol

Boller sucks...give Pryor all the reps this week.....at least the chiefs are terrible enough to have Boller as a qb and still get the W

you know there's also the possibility of trading for vince young, or maybe even kyle orton. I really don't think orton is the problem in denver, dude lit it up the last 2 years with a weak line and no run game. imagine what he could do with a team that has mcfadden to take the pressure off him.

If nothing else, the rumors surrounding this year’s trading deadline are more interesting than usual.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports the Raiders are “trying hard” to acquire Carson Palmer. Cole’s source “highly doubts” Bengals owner Mike Brown would make a move, but perhaps the Raiders could make him think with a big offer.

We’ve assumed there is no chance Palmer will be traded, and that’s probably the case. Palmer called Brown last week without making Brown budge.

Still, there is a possibility Oakland could make a generous offer.

The Raiders are 4-2 and ready to make a run to the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. They just lost their starting quarterback, likely for the season. *If any team was ever going to make an over-aggressive move including a first round pick, it’s Oakland in the next two days.

(The Raiders are already without second-, third-, and fourth-round picks in next year’s draft though.)

Other possibilities for the Raiders could include signing David Garrard or trying to trade for Kyle Orton. *Both of those moves make more sense to us because the cost will be less.

Raiders reportedly trying to acquire Palmer from Bengals

The Oakland Raiders approached the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday about a trade for quarterback Carson Palmer, Yahoo! Sports reported, citing a source familiar with the Raiders' thinking.

Bengals owner Mike Brown has been uninterested in trading Palmer, who said before the season that he would retire if Cincinnati didn't trade him and so far has been true to his word.

The Raiders lost starting quarterback Jason Campbell with a broken collarbone during their 24-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported Sunday that Campbell likely will miss the rest of the regular season.

Kyle Boller is Oakland's backup, and behind him is rookie Terrelle Pryor, who has yet to take a snap in the NFL and just became eligible after a five-game suspension.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

Oakland coach Hue Jackson was Cincinnati's wide receivers coach from 2004 to 2006, when Palmer was enjoying some of his best seasons.

I would give a first rounder for Carson Palmer. I think draft picks are a little overrated because you never know who's going to produce in the NFL. In Palmer, you already have a proven SOLID QB.

But my guess would be the Raiders end up getting Orton.

the thing about palmer is, he hasn't looked good in recent years and he hasn't played at all this season. no camp either. the more I think about it, orton is the best option. he played great when he was under an offensive minded coach in denver and he even helped to make brandon lloyd look like a great receiver. you can also factor in, that we play the donks again this year and he can give us the intel on them. the only real problem with him, is that he's making more than jason campbell this year.

bollers stats while under josh mcdaniels:

2009 yards 3802 TD 21 INT 12

2010 yards 3653 TD 20 INT 9

he did that with teams knowing they couldn't run the ball in denver.

didn't we give up our 7th for curry also? are we just gonna give away the entire draft? I think we've picked up some great players in the draft the last couple years so I'd be sad to see that go, although Carson Palmer is a hell of alot better than Campbell and will likely be able to step right in and play. Denver won't trade Orton within the division, and I wouldn't want Orton anyways. Gerrard is decent, I believe he's better than Boller but Boller is ass anyways.

Pryor better step into camp completing 187% of his throws. I really don't want to see Boller at all.

we'll be getting compensatory picks for gallery, miller and nnamdi. there's also the possibility of trading our 1st round pick for a bunch of later round picks. I wonder how much a mid 1st round pick could get us. maybe a couple of 2nds, a 3rd and a 4th?

We're the Raiders, we don't have a snowball's chance in hell of that happening as long as Al Davis is alive.....
