are you really acting like campbell is an elite qb? lol. look how weak our passing game is and that's with opposing teams focusing on stopping mcfadden. receivers are getting open, but campbell just isn't good enough to make the reads and throws. campbell is a game manager, his job has been to avoid making stupid mistakes and play it safe. boller can do that.

i think pryor would actually bring some fire to the squad thats been lackin at qb in recent years. godkowski brought a little bit of spark yet he wasn't all that productive lol it wont mean he will be good, but he is hungry to prove to all those teams that didnt want him that he could be an nfl QB kinda like how cams been tearing it up proving eveyrone wrong, but i do think cam is a way better athlete than TP.

You just gotta look at cam newton. he makes some flashy plays, but he has 10 turnovers and carolina is 1-5. we run the ball, do a lot of reverses and depend on the qb not making bad mistakes. that's our offense, with the occasional shot down field to keep the opposing D somewhat in check. boller can keep us going until campbell comes back, I think that's about 8 weeks though.
We dont ask our QB's to win games for us. They just have to manage the game like it has been said. I think Boller can fit the bill this year. He will have plenty of reps this week and he looked pretty good in preseason. But if he gets hurt we need insurance, that is why we need to bring someone in. Boller can carry the ship, don't trip. We have playmakers and Hue's playcalling keeps defenses off balance. The man "lives on the edge" for real. His timing for the fakes have been perfect so far. I thought for sure he was going to take the 3 after the turnover.lol

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora cited league sources Tuesday in reporting that 39-year-old free agent Todd Bouman will be among the quarterbacks working out for the Raiders this week. The team's search comes on the heels of the broken collarbone suffered by starter Jason Campbell, who said he could be back before the end of the season.
campbell should take his time getting back. If he's gone for the season, then so be it. We gotta move on, next man up. Right now that man is, without a doubt, Kyle Boller. Terell Pryor isnt even close to being ready. Bet he doesn't start until 2013, if he ever does start. All we can basically do right now is get somebody in case Boller goes down. The options are kind of thin right now seeing that we don't have many decent draft picks to work with. I would say taking a look at Trent Edwards would be a good start; after all, he was in training camp.
After that, maybe look at some guys who are either third string or on practice squads. I also think Jeff Garcia or Troy Smith is definitely worth pursuing, seeing that the UFL has cancelled their season....
