you also have to take injuries into account. both bush and dmac missed time last season. he could also return punts and kickoffs.
true.. didn't we resign Louis Rankin as well tho? I remember dude was beastin for us in preseason but then didn't end up making the team,, Im pretty sure we got him back tho.. were going to be pretty stacked with weapons @ tha RB position

I'm some what satisfied. We drafted players that was a NEES for us but I really wanted to draft Colin Kaepernick and we were tryna trade wit NE for the 33rd pick but didn't offer them a good enough package.

The Demarcus Van Dyke was a reach but could turn out to be a great player but still a project.

Either way, I give us a B- for our draft.

And obviously Davis HAD to draft 2 of the fastest players in the combine hahaha not surprised, and I don't think anyone else is either.

I think Al Drafted Van Dyke just to show the world the he is still in charge. and I'm fine with that. We know that game plan, bump and run. I think the Raiders did well with this draft from what I've read so far.
The Raiders are the fastest team in football now. Losing the 2nd round pick next year isn't a big deal because I don't think Hue Jackson and Al Davis plan to get a good one anyways.

Steve Smith Wants to be Traded to the Oakland Raiders

Steve Smith wants to be traded to the Oakland Raiders or the San Diego Chargers. At least according to what Chuck Carroll, of Football News Now, has reported hearing from a source. Who knows how accurate or close to the situation his source is? I haven't followed Carroll close enough to know how his track record on such things are.

Just connecting the dots the reports make sense. Smith suffered through some miserable QB play and season in 2010. And that is a reality that is not likely to change anytime soon. Smith is about to turn 32, and I am sure he is anxious to find a new situation. He is from California, and both the Chargers and the Raiders feature offenses that are ideal fits for big playmaking receivers. Carroll also offered this bit of insight:

It has been widely reported Smith has already cleared out his locker and residence in Carolina. He wants to return home.

Smith is under contract for two more seasons—$7 million for next year and $7.75 for 2012. I am not aware of any no trade clause in his contract. So where he wants to be traded may be worth about as much as who I want the Raiders to trade for.

I really have little bearing on what Smith would command in a trade. Last year the Patriots traded a fourth-round selection for 31-year-old Deion Branch. However, Branch had extensive injury history, and was never as good as Smith to begin with. On the other hand, it was during the season and the Patriots were a little desperate to add a receiver, which means they likely overpaid. Given that, I think Smith would likely command a third round selection, but who knows?

I imagine the Panthers would be looking for draft picks to help along their rebuilding process, and the Raiders are already running low on 2011 picks. For the Raiders past, they have been reluctant to bring in any veteran receivers, and have been content to go with the young guys.

I do know that I'd be jacked to see Smith in this offense, and to have Smith teach the tricks of the trade to the remarkably similar Jacoby Ford. I also know that I would be relatively shocked if this happened. And if it doesn't, here's to hoping he doesn't go to the Chargers!

Steve Smith would be a solid vet to help these youngsters out.. Jacoby Ford is someone who would probably become even better under him, with their similar style of play.. But honestly our next big time WR is that Moore cat we just drafted outta Tenn.. He's gonna be solid for us.. I just hope this is tha season that DHB shows us why we drafted him in tha 1st round ( ala Darren Mcfadden )

Raiders have missed on vet receivers in the past though.
Andre Rison, Randy Moss, Javon Walker are the first that came to mind.
The only one I remember working out was Jerry Rice.

I don't think Al is ready to offer any kind of money to a 32 year old.

I agree a solid veteran would be great, and if he is a Raiders fan I think that goes a long way to Al Davis.

Fuck the lockout. The draft was a fucking tease.

So what's the deal with the Raiders and Nnamdi? I heard yesterday on KNBR that the Raider have pretty much gave up on Nnamdi with the drafting of 2 DBs and all the money they spent before the lockout.

Randy Moss still put up some #s working with our shitty offense/QB.. we finally got a decent offense and a QB in Campbell who proved he's a huge upgrade over what we've had recently.. Javon Walker honestly just robbed us pretty much, he coulda still been a solid 3rd down receiver but our past teams didn't kno how tha fuck to use him..

with tha team we currently have, I honestly feel a vet WR would actually produce

The JaMarcus Russel effect essentially fucked us for a long time.
I read an article on I thinking silverandblackpride.com talking about how Campbell didn't like Cable's coaching style. I guess hes all in your face and then arm around buddy buddy.
That and not having to worry about Bruce the politician should make for a successful year.

I also read that the reason the Raiders went for Van Dyke was because he had success in the slot. With Routt and Johnson on the outside we may have a decent coverage squad.
People worried about losing Huff but he really only played decent last year. Rather see the young guys step up.

Just read an article from bleacher report that steve smith is demanding a trade and the 2 teams he wants to go to are either the chargers or the raiders

I dunno how legit this is... Because bleacher report is far from a reliable news source... But who knows... Maybe steve smith wants to live in cali and doesn't wanna be a faggot ass winer

I'd post the article, but I'm at work on my phone right now
