Maybe i do need to meet more, even though i have a bunch of folks that are "insert ethnic monicker here".

I don't realy feel comfortable calling African-American/Black people, "Black People" coz what the fuck is that? there is no nation called Black. but then again in college it's not african-american studies, it's black studies.

my bad if it doesn't go for the black people on this board but i just feel that it sounds offensive even though i'm not black. i'd find it retarded as fuck if someone referred to me as Brown People.

if you read my initial post it states whats on her birth certificate BLACK. Are you from Africa? Or are you of african decent. We all have other races in us. Are you calling yourself what you are told to be called? On all applications I never select the African American selection. I select other and write Black. Thats just me though

B.E.T. makes balck people look bad. Makes yall look like all you care about is stakin dough, pimpin hoes, gettin rich, and makin stupid ass ignorant music. That network could put so much more positive shit on their channel but they choose not to, this is just comin from a non black person's perspective.

I dont think the hyphy movement is makin the black race look dumb. Did crunk make the black race in the south look dumb? More then trippin on what everyone else views the black race from the bay as, we should be trippin on the media makin the bay ONLY "hyphy". It happened to the south, ppl only thought crunk music comes out the south, and thats what i think they will think about the bay with the hyphy movement. I myself am white and i think that the black race in general has over come alot worst things then the "goin dumb" dance move makin their race seem stupid.

We us BLACKS a have overcome alot of things but you'd have to be black to get what were all hollen bout. (NO DISSRESPECT). But you wouldnt understand until you are within the race. Again I only used the hyphy movement to draw attention to the post. In my opinion it all makes us look bad....crunk, gangsta rap, movies...etc..My Pimps of Hazzard Cover...

Thats where ur wrong, i dont have to be black to understand why u think this is makin your race look bad. I do understand, but if u agree that what your doing isnt makin your race look better, why continue to do so? (not specificly the hyphy movement)

trust me there are areas the you would have to be our race to understand. That comment you just made about me being wrong proves that. On the other topic, why do I continue to do so? We all sin right why do we continue to sin? No one is perfect. This is a discussion forum I posted this for the bigger picture. I understand that Im not perfect etc etc. Do you purchase gangsta rap on any medium that blacks make themselves look bad with and no? and if yes, why?

Bottomline is...
1.Racism will always exist
2.Almost everyone has a little predjudice inside of them which doesnt necesarrily make someone racist.
3.Racism is a very strong word that is thrown around too much
4.The white man is not keeping you down
5.Ignorance is the plague of society

Finally If someone wants to talk about making the black race look dumb...the hyphy movement barely even crosses that line because its all about the music and dancing, but if you really want to see a negative representation of the black race just pick up a copy of the "Hood to hood" or "Go dumb USA", those are some things to not be really proud of...
thank you

To answer your question first, although not directed at me, yes I have bought music that that makes black males look bad. Not in a while, but I have.

Now to address your earlier point. You don't have to be black to see that pushing sin, glorifying pimping, etc etc, is a negative thing. You just have to be human. I do respect how you are mediating this conversation though, but you are being a little self righteous and not even considering yourself in the equation.

The problem is not hyphy, or how the media "portrays" you, the answer is in your signature. You're trying to sell records, with the title of "pimping" in there. Now I haven't listened to the album, and dont' know the content, but i'm pretty sure you're not talking this political stuff on the album. I could be wrong. Prove me right. Stop trying to play the victim. You're putting that stuff out there yourself, yet claiming victim, or "you don't understand because you're not black". Wrong. (I'd get into it, I'd be writing paragraphs and people wouldn't read it.) Just because "sin" is out there, does perpetuating make it right? Step it up. I would like to hear your response to all this.

And in acknowledging your pimps of hazzard cover, you still put it out there. Irresponsibility to the fullest. Especially when you consider how dire the situation is for blacks/african americans nowadays.

And you did take your cover into consideration. I'm blowed. My bad. But still, very irresponsible considering that you brought this topic up.

I wasnt being irresponsible in any aspect. I just brought up a topic. I knew what my cover was representing when i posted this topic. I didnt post it for me I posted it for the forum to discuss their views. And again their are millions of things you wont ever experience that BLACK people do. But thats a debate in itself. Im not power to the people cat, I just made a topic. My mixtape is full of pimping and other aspects of street shit, cuz thats what i like.

Sorry, but yes, you were being irresponsible.
Wasn't it dude on street soldiers back in the day that said, 'if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem?"

you're part of the problem. Plain and simple. Don't get on this, black people looking bad tip, and then put out the music you do.

And you have no idea what I've experienced. You're right, that is another topic unto itself. But as I said earlier, I don't have to be black to see that purporting pimping and drugs and what not on the people is a bad thing. Punto Final.

Well were not oing to see the end of this discussion. Pimping, drugs etc, are in every race, I speaking on issues you'll never understand. There should be a thread on here "JUST BECAUSE WHITES LISTEN TO AND HANG AROUND BLACK PEOPLE, DO THEY REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS TO BE BLACK?" POST THAT PIMP AND YOU'LL GET YOUR ANSWER...NO. And your right Im not part of the solution, I didnt post this thread to make a solution. Your part of the problem as well mayne, just being on this forum that helps promote the problem. I posted this thread hoping to raise a bigger topic in which Ive succeed somewhat. To tell you the truth, I dont live for the race i live for myself and people I love and respect, with no color line. Its funny how you can only state the shit you see on T.V. or on the streets about BLACK people but not BLACK people behind closed doors. Thats what Im speaking on, when I say you dont understand, and I challenge you to post a thread on this forum to that effect. On another note. You cool peeps pimp, you raise good dicussion.
