Well were not oing to see the end of this discussion. Pimping, drugs etc, are in every race, I speaking on issues you'll never understand. There should be a thread on here "JUST BECAUSE WHITES LISTEN TO AND HANG AROUND BLACK PEOPLE, DO THEY REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS TO BE BLACK?" POST THAT PIMP AND YOU'LL GET YOUR ANSWER...NO. And your right Im not part of the solution, I didnt post this thread to make a solution. Your part of the problem as well mayne, just being on this forum that helps promote the problem. I posted this thread hoping to raise a bigger topic in which Ive succeed somewhat. To tell you the truth, I dont live for the race i live for myself and people I love and respect, with no color line. Its funny how you can only state the shit you see on T.V. or on the streets about BLACK people but not BLACK people behind closed doors. Thats what Im speaking on, when I say you dont understand, and I challenge you to post a thread on this forum to that effect. On another note. You cool peeps pimp, you raise good dicussion.
I will respect your point. But I'm referring to the problems "i see on tv" to talk about the bigger problem. By saying I don't know about black people behind closed doors, that's ignorant. You think cuz you're black you know something I don't? You don't know a secret I don't. If you really knew me, you'd know that I was hated on ALL MY FUCKING LIFE because of who i am. But I'm not here to discuss all of that, that would be better off in another medium.
Born in TX, raised in the bay, I've hung around EVERYONE. Bar none. And if I haven't, it's only cuz haven't met them yet.

So instead of trying to attack my character, or my credibility, or assuming that I"m some a white kid behind this computer screen, forget that.

And I don't feel i'm on the forum to promote this stuff or whatever. I'm here for the music. I used to get on the BART site back in the day, and I just liked the community, so here I am. I am into Bay stuff a lot, but I also listen to a lot of hip hop, (right now, IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE can't be touched). And I've worked jobs that, to me, were all about the internal rewards, because the pay was lousy, and i was helping kids. And I'm determined to be eminating goodness where ever I am, ('i'm blowed, and i dont' know if that makes sense, but it's just spirituality and respect for another human being's struggle and reverance for life.). So, no, I am Not part of the problem in my opinion, bay far. Yeah, i like the purp, so i'm human, in many other way as well.

I respect the thing without color lines. That is how it's supposed to be. that's how I try and live my life. Am I prejudiced? Yes, but I'm not racist. I don't steer away from certain groups. I steer away from certain personality types.

where am i going with this? i dont' know. Just wanted to get across that no, black people are not the only group to go through struggle. Even if you didn't start this thread to initiate a change or come up with "the solution", maybe you should think about what you put out there as "music". Thousand mile journey starts with one step. And it sure couldn't hurt.

Those whom you have named arent on top of the game right now, now M was at one point, in reality Dr Dre was the brain ansd the company. Thats on top of the game behind the scenes. Who's really on top of the game right now is Oukast. 11 million plus records sold of their last Cd, they always out sell everybody. Being on top of the game has to do with the fame and the money. Who getting the most of both, but in the end, its all about the money whos geting the most of all that?

It is allways ammussing to hear blacks blame whitey. If you go to a white power site like stormfront all they do is blame the dirty jews. I personally hate all equally dumd jigabos, wetbacks, Gooks, and rednecks. The only thing that makes blacks really stand out is they are the biggest whinners. Allways have a reason why they cant. In reallity it has little to do about race. It is all about apperance, vocabulary, and money.

call me idealistic, but i mean in my opinion the whole movement has transcended race from the beginning, when i go to a concert, go to a club , ect. I see as many latinos, asians, whites going “dumb” to bay music, also those who are involved in the movement are of all different races, so to say that the hyphy movement is making blacks look stupid is a misconception of the whole movement. If anything, it is a youth culture, and historically youth cultures and fringe cultures has been misinterpeted by the public , but because of the strength of such cultures they start to become incorporated into the mainstream- that's whets going on with the hyphy movement right now.

I am actually happy to hear some rap that isn’t just talking about life on the streets, the perils of growing up black, ect. It’s a way for the youth to safely enjoy themselves , let loose, and if just for a moment forget the struggles that many minorities face from day to day. Sometimes we have to learn not be so hung up on the white mans( and by that i mean the white power structure) perceptions of us.

As far as B.E.T. goes, it has been a hindrance for african americans but it has also broke a lot of barriers. Although sometimes it does reinforce hurtful stereotypes, it has given a lot of black artists a chance to break through when other stations just didn't give a fuck. BET has always been a double edged sword, but i rather have it then nothing at all.

Is going dumb making the black race look dumb on T.V.? It depends on your perspective and who is watching the television. It is obvious that the networks and labels (controlled by whites and so-called Jews) stand to profit the most from this, so from that perspective it would appear dumb but very lucrative. Another perspective may come from those who have limited exposure to blacks or those who get all their info from watching the television. Most people who comprise these groups already have a certain outlook pertaining to blacks, and truth be told, the image is usually a negative one. Still, another perspective may come from the fans of the movement (the majority of which might be black), and the perspective they hold is one of good times, fun, partying etc.

Now the REAL question you should be asking is does this "movement" effect the black community (as a whole), and if so how? I would say it DOES affect the black community, and the effects are mostly negative. Right now, the black race and its family structure is in shambles. A high percentage of black males are incarcerated, aids is the #1 killer of black women 21-34, blacks have a very high unemployment rate and a sky rocketing high school drop out rate. Sure, these problems are not exclusive to blacks, and no one implied they were, however these problems are causing the most damage to the black community; a community with no infrastructure, guidance or direction. I ask you to look at the people who are behind this movement. Take a look at the money machines, the people with videos, the people getting spins and those who are being paid from this "movement." What are they doing for the black community? You have rappers who are in their late 30's and early 40's rapping about partying and having fun times, yet the black leadership is lacking and non-existent. These same rappers are tap dancing like Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, and at the end of the day, when problems arise from the movement, the majority of america will NOT look at the movement as a "youth" movement. They will look at this as a problem stemming from BLACK culture, which will place more scrutiny on rap/hip hop.

White americans can go dumb, get hyphy etc but guess what? If they face scrutiny for it, they can always STOP going dumb and be accepted in the white community as if nothing has ever happened. Asians who are fans of the movement can turn it off and revert to a larger Asian community (especially those with strong roots overseas), and the same can be said for Latinos and the rising Latino population. All of the races mentioned can revert to their culture or country of origin if things go wrong, but blacks are not afforded this opportunity. Think about what this movement promotes the current state of the black race and were the race will be in ten years. We have a movement promoting good times and laughter while the Latinos are rising in population, buying networks (radio and TV stations), focusing on branding, opening new markets and taking over. This is their movement and they are successful at it. You have so-called Jews focusing on family structure, banking, networking, and operating in things such as law and entertainment. This is their movement and they are effective at it. EVERY race mentioned in this post markets and promotes at LEAST five goods and services to the black community, yet what goods and services does the black community offer these people? Entertainment? At the price of not even owning 10% of the wealth?

So, where are the priorities of the black race? Are the priorities good times and fun? "Ghost ridin the whip, poppin pills, gettin blunted and peelin beezoids?" If so, where does that leave the future generation who place more emphasis on these aspects of life instead of learning? Should the race look at reality or should the race sweep it under the rug and focus on having a good time? Should blacks be concerned with the fact the black dollar leaves the black community 15 minutes after entering, or should blacks be detached from this matter and focus on materialism? Should blacks be watchful that gold is now $700+ an ounce or should blacks be dedicated to gold grills? Again, the black leadership is lacking, and the youth are being force fed something that is detrimental to their continuance. Instead of being complaisant, blacks should contemplate the current state of the black community and implement a new movement that endorses leadership, growth, ownership and unity in place of the current system which promotes; buffoonery, samboism and the Amos & Andy mentality.

no matter what you say black people do have it off worse than most races, i had a decussion with doc truth about a month or so ago and alot of what i said was off the top cause i wasn't thinking right, i grew up in the projects, my family is black(step family)i've been around black, hispanic, and asians and i see it everywhere...white people have no culture that's what sets us back, that's what we don't have we tend to incorperate things from other cultures into are's most from the black communitty, BUT there is a BIG difference between GHETTO AND BLACK there could be a black kid from the suburbs sportting baggy pants, cap backwards and listen's to rap and is considered down or real but you can have a white kid from the projects with a bad history doing the same thing yet people look at him as being a fake JUST cause of his skin color and that shit goes both ways, if you want to blame somebody blame tv, music, media, parents, schools, government, whatever you want it won't stop and if it does none of us on this board will see it

True, black people are not the only group of people going dumb, and I am almost positive no one has implied they are. However, while the black race continues to go dumb, other races will continue to exploit the black race, capitalize from the exploitation (which will result in an increase in revenue), and leave the people (blacks) with little or no substance. You can mention other races going dumb, but you also fail to realize that these other races have a movement (or have succesfully completed one) that paves the way for competing in the global market.
