its early but.

im going with greg poppa. this is a big game. all i ask is for the defense to blitz more, and offensively, no stupid mistakes like monday, and we should be allright. any qb, backups included, can eat up any defense if given 5-7 seconds with no pressure or a hand in the face. thats asking alot out of your corners. i was dissapointed no defense adjustments were made in 2nd half.

Chiefs might not be very good this season BUT I do know they are better then the Raiders.

Chiefs DO NOT lose so easily at home like your Raiders do, especially OUR home opener!!!

YOU FUCKERS ARE GOIN' DOWN!

I'll put it like this... Raiders SHOULD beat KC

talent wise... we are better than the Chiefs...

will we? I dunno... if we keep playing like we did on Monday we'll be lucky to win 2 games

I really don't think we'll play that bad for the rest of the season...

I sure hope not... cause it will be a very long depressing season...

I'm not even gonna say we're gonna smash ont he Chiefs... cause I really don't know if we will

Just being honest... I love my team as much as any other Raider fan... but I'm not delusional

I think I may have bought into this squad too much during the offseason... I had a lot of faith in this team...

I still think they're capable to make some noise this year... but with all the problems going on behind the scenes it might not happen

I hate to say it... but as long as Al is running this team... it's gonna be hard for us to excel... the guy obviously makes stupid decisions... and won't let anyone else make good ones

Maybe I'm just coming down on my team a little too hard cause I'm pissed off... maybe I'm just finally being realistic... either way I'm still a Raider fan for life... but I'm just gonna say hold on Raider fans... cause this may be another bumpy ride for us this season...

No basically everything you said about the raiders i say about the chiefs. Until Carl Peterson is gone the chiefs wont do shit. I love my chiefs and would love to see em make some noise. I doubt they will but i can always hope. As much as i hate the raiders, we're in the same boat this year. I do plan on whoopin yalls ass sunday though

The Raiders continue to be the undisciplined, unmotivated, underachieving bunch of bums that are the laughing stock of the NFL. It cannot be Kiffen's fault; they've been the same with Shell (twice), Turner, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. The shit starts at the top (Davis) and rolls downhill (fast and messy).

Are we the 'worst' team, talentwise, in the NFL. I'd say no. Are we good enough to beat the worst team in the NFL? I'd say yes. Could we do it? I'd say no, in most cases. "Talent" can only get you so far; leadership, coaching (ALL coaches, not just Kiffen), teamwork, etc. also need to be present. We had one of the greatest WR's of our time, talentwise, in Randy Moss, and made him look like J. J. Stokes. That's pathetic.

IMO, with the potential this team has, we could be a 7-9 win team. Like I've said from the beginning. I will NOT buy into this whole fantasy that a Raider will be in the SB this year, unless they're honoring Gene Upshaw at halftime. With the way we played on Monday, we may be a 4 win team (again), and that's very, very generous. We were outplayed in every aspect of the game.

I've been an Oakland (then LA, then Oakland) Raiders fan my whole life. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It's easy to hop on the latest 'hot team's' bandwagon; there's millions who do. It's harder sticking with one team, especially a team who's been such a pile of shit 95% of my life.

I do have faith, though; I think we'll rebound fairly well, and get to about 6-7 wins, still. 6 wins is a huge improvement over last year, IMO, and if we could fix the problems we have, we could make a decent run in a few years. I'm not dillusional, but I'm not blind, either. We have talent, and we have some bright young players, but signing old, washed up has-beens, or never-was (JAVON WALKER) is NOT going to fix the problem. Neither is hanging on to complete busts (ROBERT GALLERY) because he was a high draft pick. Al, shove that pick (and Gallery) up your ass and waive him. He's making me constipated.

That's my rant for now, and until next time:

If the raiders change their defensive scheme and actually start blitzing and pressure the qb I think they have a good shot at winning. Against the broncos they had absolutely no pressure on Cutler and they didn't blitz at all. With that much time the broncos could have had ryan leaf back there and he would have been picking apart that defense.

its more about having talent in the dline......some teams dont have the talent to be blitzing linebackers...they need to be out in coverage because there DBs are a liability in pass coverage....

Agreed 100%.... Hall "probably" wouldn't have looked so bad if we would have blitzed and made Cutler hurry a few of his throws. We have the DB's so we should be blitzing more often.

I know about the talent of the dline. The raiders didn't blitz the whole game and kiffin acknowledged that was apart of the game plan, that they were going to try to bring pressure only with the dline, and as you could see that failed horribly. The raiders have talented enough DB's to have LB's blitzing.
