I have a barry sanders draft pick card. A have a lot of shaq 1st years too. I still got a few binders full of cards and boxes. Its been at least 13 years since i last pulled them out. I gotta reggie miller rookie too. Those are some that i could think of. Yea my hayday of collecting was 87 - 90. I stopped collecting when the last card show i went to JOse Canseco Ozzie Canseco and Walt Weiss were all dicks. That same card show I met Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial(sp??) those old timers were cool as hell smelling like 80 proof.

3rd...the reason it seems card went down is not EBAY. The reason is the card companies have pretty much priced the average collector out of the business. Before you could buy a few packs for under $10, nowadays to get a good pack of cards with a chance at a high priced card you have to pay $10 or more just for 1 pack.
yea its a bitch cuz u used to be able to pull a hella good card from any kind of pack. and nowadays u gotta buy a expensive ass pack to have a chance of getting a good card.

Back then your pack would have 8-12 cards, now your 15 dollar pack will have maybe 4-6 cards.

If you really want the good cards those packs can be as high as $50 per pack for 1 - 4 cards.
Yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about. There was a sportscard shop in my city that was moving, so they were trying to sell everything at discount prices to help ease the moving. I went in there just to check it out because I hadn't been in a sportscard shop for a long time. I was asking how much the packs of football cards were, and he was selling packs with four cards in them for $40. I asked him why it was so expensive and he told me I was guaranteed to get a card with an authentic piece of the players jersey worn in a game on the card. So I said "Fuck it", give me a $40 pack because this will probably be the last pack of cards I ever buy and I want to see what the fuck is in a $40 pack. Well, the jersey card I got was the highest valued one, Brett Favre. Unfortunately, it was only worth $25 so I didn't even make my money back combined with all four cards.

hell yeah! i got that 1 too.

i used to collect a little bit of everything but mostly basketball. it was like a religion/hella addicting. the Jordan rookie was the holy grail & shit - i still never got ahold of one. i have over 400 Michael Jordans. 3 Kobe rookies. Shaq rookie. mark macguire rookie. cant really remember anymore

i think it'd be stupid to sell them. what if the market went back up

they ruined it with all those ridiculous packages..'

special inserts with used game jerseys...old time autographs...stadium dirt...etc etc...

that it drove the prices of packs through the roof,...
fuck last time i bought some packs of cards..i paid about 30 bills...for a total of about 15 cards...
tell me what kind of shit was that...all because theres that one special card with bondss jersey when he broke hr record in season signed and aoutographed by bonds with a pic of aarons old braves hat stichcing in the corner valued at 899 bills...lmao...

cards are gay now...ill never give up my collection though...got too many and its sentimental value.

The one with 4 is Andre Dawson's rookie(1977 Topps), and the one under it with 3 is Cal Ripken's rookie. That Mays
card I had for about 20 years and the same with the OJ Simpson rookie right next to it.

I got in excess of probably 200,000 cards, although I've been unloading them like crazy. That was ALL we did when we were younger...

The best way to do it, if you're in a situation like me, is find a dealer/trader, and chop it up with him. I'm dumping my extras, nobodies, and garbage, and he sells them in bulk on Ebay, at shows, etc.

I have a son now, so he'll be getting the good ones I keep. I got all the rookies man...I mostly did basketball and football though. Not much into baseball, but I got a few thousand, probably. A couple complete sets from the 80's and 90's.

I got rookies of Jordan, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Iverson, Kobe, Montana, Marino, etc etc etc...thank God I kept these in good condition.

But yeah...kids these days no NOTHING about the hustle of us ''card hustlers''...LOL. I stopped having faith in our youth when kids started collecting pogs.

The overproduction/gimmicks of the 90's killed it.

I got some old cards that are probalby worth a little something... I got Cal Ripken, Rickey Henderson, John Elway, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Barry Bonds, Marcus Allen, Mark McGwire (USA,) Roger Clemens, Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg, Wade Boggs and hella other rookie cards... Some older 50's-70's cards like Harmon Kilebrew, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench... Also a bunch of factory sets from the late 80's/early 90's... I probably got hundreds of thousands of cards. I should sell off all the factory sets and commons I have, they waste hella space.
