I used to collect baseball cards like a madman when I was little. I still got my whole collection. My best card was mcgwire rookie and a canseco rookie. I think I sold the canseco rookie a while ago or i just couldn't find it last time i looked. i got hella ken griffey jr. rookies though. I remember when I was little I thought Id be rich off my cards when I got older.

I was just looking at my brothers cards yesterday and I dint know that they have gone down in value so much. On of the good cards we had was a Willie Mays card and I just found it on e-bay going for $10 it was worth like $70 back in the day. I also had some Bonds rookie cards a Schilling rookie and my uncle bought me some really old cards that were worth a lot of money. I still have them somewhere.

Man, when I was like 6 or 7, my dad's boss at the time would give me baseball cards all the time. Some old ass ones too. I had like a Rod Beck and Chilli Davis rookie card, some others I can't remember. That got me into buying them though, and I ended up having a whole bunch. I got them some where back at my parents house...

i have hella shit. from football, to basketball, to even marvel comics cards. all my shit is still in good condition...

i used to jack football cards from target, toys r us, and wal-mart. i have some good shit with football, like jersey cards but not as much as basketball.

i have the whole nba upper deck set from the 1993-1994 season, with all the inserts. i have a shitload of rookie cards from early 90's players like shawn kemp, grant hill, shaquille o' neal, etc. i have even more amounts of rookie cards of players in the mid 90s, like allen iverson, kobe, you name it.

baseball, i don't have anything special besides a ken griffey, jr. rookie card.

and i still got the whole set of x-men series 2, by impel, all cards illustrated by andy kubert...

I just sold an autographed Joe Montana card for $4 shipped on ebay, when I thought people would have bid more on something like that. I listed things like an autographed RICKY WATTERS ROOKIE starting at $9 with $1 shipping, & they didn't even get any bids!

not sure but i heard that autograph rookie cards are worth alot less then a rookie card not autograph so thats probably why the card wasnt getting no bids.

I collected mainly baseball cards, but also a little bit of football and basketball cards. I did most of my collecting from 1986-1994. My best card set is the 1986 Topps Traded, which is an extra small factory set that Topps would put out over halfway through the baseball season for rookies that came up mid-season or players that switched teams. I love this set because it has rookie cards for all of these players: Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, Bo Jackson, Wally Joyner, Andres Gallaraga, and Bobby Bonilla. There might be a couple of other good ones I am forgetting, but those are definitely in there for sure.

Ok I am a card collector since the late 80's and my son collects as well.

First off BECKETT is still around.

2nd, cards are worth more now than ever before! You wont get much from collectors but if you build a nice collection buy a table at a local card show and unload them there!

3rd...the reason it seems card went down is not EBAY. The reason is the card companies have pretty much priced the average collector out of the business. Before you could buy a few packs for under $10, nowadays to get a good pack of cards with a chance at a high priced card you have to pay $10 or more just for 1 pack.

Back then your pack would have 8-12 cards, now your 15 dollar pack will have maybe 4-6 cards.

If you really want the good cards those packs can be as high as $50 per pack for 1 - 4 cards.

Sure you can still buy some Topps for $2 a pack, but the chances of pulling out an insert (autograph, gameused, etc...)are very rare, compared to the higher priced packs.

Also the reason the Montana auto card didn't sell on EBAY is because it was not authenticly pulled...with certification.

Now they have the cards in the packs with autographs certified already for you...those cards are worth bank...but a basic card with no certification...yeah right, 99.9% of the people will think it is fake.

I have a Barry Sanders rookie card that I pulled myself out of a pack and then went to a show and had him autograph...THAT AINT WORTH SHIT! Only because someone will think I signed it and dropped it's value.......luckily I will never get rid of the card anyway and I know it's legit so I dont need to fool myself.
