People read too much into words. What Von said is TRUE.

Just because people make music they think it should be played on the radio. He said he aint wit the garbage. Thats a TRUE statement. Just cuz you get in the studio or record a shitty song or album on your computer in your bedroom or bathroom does NOT mean you should automatically be entitled to radio play. And yes there IS a lot of GARBAGE that comes out of the Bay that people bitch about.

That does not mean that there is a lot of quality music that does get overlooked and doesn't get its fair shot also, but not everything should get played. People feel like theyre entitled just cuz they recorded something. Get off your ass get out in the streets hustle and create a buzz and make the radio take notice of you. Create relationships with DJs.

As was said before, Not everything is Von's fault. There also is only so much airtime to go around. And radio is a BUSINESS.

Of course the bottom line is important, but when the bottom line is more important than the music.....well then you end up killing the very things that made radio great. When radio stations limit their playlists to only established hits and only care about the shareholders....then they never should have invested in the "arts" in the first place

What happenend to breaking new music on the radio? Supporting homegrown talent?

It's too bad the radio biz is full of corporate puppets with no interest in or talent to create original and interesting programming.

in my opinion i think artists need to just give up on the radio and work this internet and these streets... of course things have changed on the radio and its not looking like its gonna get better anytime soon but there are ways to make somethin out yourself without the radio.(tech 9,j-stalin,zion-i) shit even mac dre was to hard for the fucking radio....

this is a good documentary for all artist with aspirations to be on the radi to watch

Buy albums, Call In and request the songs you want to hear, get others to do it too, how many of you do that? how many e-quest for the songs they want to hear? How many do it everyday, and every hour? Is the song you want to hear even radio edited? Does the station even have the song? The blame starts from within in my opinion, action is needed to get radio stations spins. All the younger kids, your nieces, nephews, lil cousins, call in and request that "jerk" shit, and that Drake shit, and that Nikki Minaj Shit, they are the ones that call, and text, and e-quest. We all have to take ownership as fans of the music we want to hear. We need to support our own, buy albums, download free shit, go to the shows, Retweet/Repost Links for others.... it's bigger than just one person and one radio station.

lot of you complain but do so little about it, thats the real issue itself.. u want ur voice to be heard tell them dudes at the top, its like this, kmel is the message, big von is the messenger, hes doin what hes told to and paid to do, although its true dude could be a little more open to his home market, aint nothing better than one of your own on the radio getting play.

Bottom line, talk is cheap.. do somethin about it, or get xm/sirius or support SacTown Radio
