And that "ONE" company isnt the only show in town. Maybe the "ONE" you have access to is what you speak on. I know of several Radio Consultants that do nothing but go to radio stations for artists 5 days a week and pay their bills doing it.

It still boils down to the music doing #'s. PERIOD. Because you can pay X amount of money and get 12 spins a week all over nights and you got your moneys worth. It boils down to talent. Sorry, there just is no other way to cut it.
blah blah blah..... listening to shit like this is whats keeping northern cali artists from getting in the game point blank. If niggas listened to shit like this they would never make it lol!!!! Stay real and Humble if you want to survive in this game!!!! Real Recognize Real

No trips. SHITTY WACK HORRIBLE music and YES MEN are what is killing northern cali rap. Sorry ass rappers are enabled to bitch moan and cry a fucking river when the ball dont bounce their way. Excuses by the ton.

You want free studio time, free beats, free mixxing, free mastering (if you master at all) free flyers and posters (if you even do that) Free ad's in magazines or on websites, spam a message board or 3, start a myspace page, a facebook page and a twitter and you have your starter kit!!!! ANYONE CAN RAP!!!

Trust me, if your music was good, you wouldnt be on the internet crying a fucking river. Emo ass rappers.

P.S.

listening to "shit like this" will save you time, money, and embarrassment from failing miserably in a game you should have been a fan of, instead of being a part of. In real life though.

Its deeper than what your preaching youngsta lol, its a lot of politics in rap and radio is apart of the problem(its deeper than what it looks like on face value, don't get blinded by the shiny lights). The internet took over a long time ago (Too Short even has a digital album coming out for instance through the internet). Tech 9ine is in the guinness book of world records for selling over a million records indapendently(since the sound scan era) with no radio play. If you want to make it in this game its deeper than the radio, If legends like E-40, Mac Dre, Master P, Too Short listened to shit like this they would never have made it out lol. If you wanna make it in this game listen and pay attention to niggas like that.

Real Recognize Real!!!!

I lol'd

Anyway, I know Von has bosses and doesn't own the damn station, but dude seems pretty full of himself with what little power he does have. So if other observers from the outside looking in see the man talking about how he made certain artists popular, that people wouldn't know about their talent if he didn't play them and he is acting like a top hat who's really quarterbackin, how you gonna get mad at the ignorant folks who are operating under false impressions? Just my 2 cents.

Carry on.

did big von originally want to be a rapper? thats what FAB said about him. it's fucked up when you have djs with bigger egos than the rappers. djs are supposed to break records(or atleast that's how it used to be).

Its funny that just 1 man is responsible for the rise or fall of bay area rap. Is Kmel the only radio station in northern california? Last time I checked there were 6 other stations just like it. 2 in sac,1 stockton, 1 modesto, 1 in frisco, 1 montery/salinas and none of them are playing a lot of bay records in standard rotation either.
last time i heard aside from frisco all of these cities are Outside of the Bay..

and for all you other cats saying some simple ass "its not on the radio for a reason" shit, u cats need to realize a whole region cant put out 100% garbage music. It has to have some sort of good music that hasn't been reached out like that. There's probably somebody right now making some quality music that's being slept on.

but i'm with you with your other statement that its not just von but its the whole higher positioned kmel/clear channel employees that screwed over the bay area's chances of music. my opinion though is i dont mind the bay being underground or having that sort of sound. but i get annoyed when i hear bay music sounding like its from the southernish mainstream sound w/o getting close to mainstream.
