Well if our local Radio station feels like that...why not just move on to the next? Forget 'em if we already know Other stations in other areas WILL play our stuff. No need to stay stuck on one dj yall...dust our shoulders off & move on...everyone knows that "A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and in his own house."
Von has gone out on plenty of limbs for plenty of artists. i can name 6 that did not hold up their end of the bargain yet von played them 40+ times a week for months.
Jacka had a HIT record and couldnt get the album released for months and months. And Erk the Jerk Had a HIT record and 1. doesnt have an album out, and 2. sold 0 records.
The objective to a Major Radio Station p1/p2 to play and support an artist is to see the results. BUSINESS results. the numbers. Its all relative. Relationships are necessary, but the #'s trump all relationships. You have to sell records to hold that spot down in a top 40 chart. PERIOD.
Radio is a MAJOR MULTI BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY!!!
SO if you are big von, You supported the fuck out of 2 artists, helped them get HIT record status on the radio and the return was either no albums out or zero singles sold on itunes?
Now, granted Jacka ended up dropping Tear Gas and doing EXTREMELY well for an indie album. And ended up being a top 5-6-7 artist in the bay. Erk hasnt fared as well. His song got bigger than he was, and bigger than his team was ready for. So lesson learned in that regard.
I know these are only 2 examples, but i mean.... name an artist who really deserves RADIO play, and I'll show you and artist who receives it. This shit aint rocket science.
Get ya hood hot, get that to spill to your city hot, which translates into ya County, then the neighboring cities..... So on and so forth. You do not need money if you HOT!
It only costs you to get played when you mediocre.

all those artist you named have personal relationships with big von, and the Jacka earned all the attention he got for tear gas because of hard work and dedication, the streets(the people) put him on not big von. Real recognize real point blank!

And that "ONE" company isnt the only show in town. Maybe the "ONE" you have access to is what you speak on. I know of several Radio Consultants that do nothing but go to radio stations for artists 5 days a week and pay their bills doing it.
It still boils down to the music doing #'s. PERIOD. Because you can pay X amount of money and get 12 spins a week all over nights and you got your moneys worth. It boils down to talent. Sorry, there just is no other way to cut it.
